    • The present invention is directed to an automated manufacturing line for production of boxlike structures and components therefor from laminated or solid flat material by V grooving, folding and gluing to form the boxlike structure or component. The automated line includes two or more machines selected from lineal V groovers, continuous cross V groovers, edge folding and gluing machines and multiple scoring machines. Each of the machines is provided with fences and feeders for automatically guiding the workpiece through the automated line. The positioning of fences, feeders, cutting heads and applicators of each of the machines is fully adjustable by providing drive means to position the fence, feeder, cutting head and applicator according to a predetermined position required for the production of a particular boxlike structure or component. The drive means is controled by a programmed controller having the parameters of the boxlike structure or component and having a means to cause the drive means to be activated to position the fence, feeder, cutting head or applicator in the correct position for the production of the desired boxlike structure or component.

    • A tambour door includes a plurality of elongated elements having front and back surfaces of rectangular transverse cross-section placed in abutting side-by-side relationship including a flexible backing material overlaying and adhesively secured to the back surfaces of the elongated elements. The front surface of the elongated elements are formed with a design which extends over a plurality of adjacent elements. A cabinet including such tambour doors includes side pockets in which the doors move on tracks when the doors are moved to the open position. When the doors are in the closed position, they are planar and extend across the opening into the cabinet. When the door is in the closed position, the interface between adjacent elements if virtually invisible because of the abutting relationship of the elements and because of their rectangular cross-sectional shape.

    • The machine described in this disclosure serves to produce pairs of drawer sides from a panel, the thickness of which is slightly more than twice the thickness of one drawer-side; a first arrangement of saws cuts the panel to a predetermined drawer-side height; while a second arrangement of saws cuts off the panels to a predetermined drawer-side length; by means of conveyors, the panels are then passed to a band-saw which slits each panel, through its thickness, into two boards of substantially equal dimensions; two tables each receive a board laid flat, the lower surface of each board being planed by a series of cutters, the sides being machined by a second series of cutters, and the upper surface being planed and grooved by a third series of cutters; the boards are then brought together on a machining table where horizontal and vertical dovetailing heads form a male dove-tail at the end of the drawer-side and a female dove-tail on the upper surface of the drawer-side.

    • A planar wooden body adapted to shrink about its circumference.
