    • In the screen printer for printing paste to the substrate through a pattern hole by abutting a mask plate on the substrate, the end face of a side end portion of the substrate 6 is nipped and held from its both sides by a clamper 7. A warp correcting portion 17 mounting a warp-correcting member 20 constructed by a plate-shaped resilient metal is arranged in the clamper 7. When the substrate 6 held to a substrate holding portion of a Z-axis table 4 is clamped, a free end portion 20b of the warp correcting member 20 is abutted on the upper face side of the side end portion 6a of the substrate 6, and the warp deformation of the substrate 6 is corrected by pressing the free end portion 20b downward. Thus, the warp deformation of the-substrate is corrected by a simple and cheap mechanism, and the clamp state can be reliably held.

    • In textile printing apparatus for printing by a silk screen printing process on a fabric of fleece or cotton pile such as the fabric of sweat shirts or T shirts where the shirt is held on a pallet, a special dry holding plate assembly is attached to the pallet on an area thereof that is immediately adjacent the part of shirt that is to be printed on by the silk screen process for holding the shirt during the process, the plate assembly consisting of a thin plate to which is laminated a plastic film that has molded on the surface thereof a multitude of stems each with a hook at the end thereof, so that each hook catches to fibers of shirt fabric until disengaged by forcible removing the shirt, each stem hook being sufficiently flexibility that it can bend to the force of shirt fabric removal and return to its original shape thereafter, the surface having an array of many hundreds of the stem hooks so that the fabric when placed on the surface and pressed lightly onto it, is engaged by the array of stem hooks and held sufficiently securely for the silk screen printing, followed by removal of the shirt without damage to said shirt fabric.

    • Disclosed is a pallet aligning system which allows a pallet to be mounted to a pallet support arm in a desired orientation and lateral spacing with respect to the support arm and thereafter be removed and remounted to the support arm in the previously defined orientation and lateral spacing, thereby precluding the need to reposition the pallet upon each subsequent reattachment thereof to a pallet support arm. This pallet alignment system is particularly useful when combined with a screen alignment system to re-establish registration of the screens as well as the pallets used therewith. Lateral restraining members are mounted to the underside of the pallet for selective laterally movement. After the pallet has been oriented and positioned as desired, the lateral restraining members are moved into abutment against opposite lateral sides of the pallet support arm and secured in their respective positions thereat to maintain the set orientation and location of the pallet. When the pallet is removed, the lateral restraining members remain mounted stationarily to the underside of the pallet in their set positions so that upon remounting of the pallet to the support arm, the restraining members serve to orient and locate the pallet in the previously established position, thereby eliminating the need to reestablish the desired positioning of the pallet upon each subsequent reattachment to a pallet support arm. The pallet aligning system is particularly useful to remount a pallet in a centered position with respect to an image on a screen of a screen printing head used to print an image from edge-to-edge on a workpiece such as a T-shirt.

    • A printing machine for simultaneously performing multiple printing operations in a continuous manner includes: a number of platens supporting thereon articles to be printed; a plurality of printing heads designed to print a desired pattern onto the article; and an oval track about which the platens are moved. The track includes first and second portions, wherein the first portion is at a higher elevation than the second portion. The first portion is positioned to orient the platen horizontally for ease in mounting the article thereon. The second portion underlies the printing heads and orients the platens in a downward inclination to thereby clear the printing heads as they are moved along the track. A lifting assembly lifts each platen into engagement with a printing head for printing a pattern onto the article.

    • A registration device for use in silk screen printing of garments and other articles. The device facilitates the accurate positioning of the garment or other article to be printed. The device has a support arm which is held in a fixed position in respect to the platen of the silk screen printing apparatus. The support arm holds a frame which is affixable to a transparent sheet. The sheet is taped to the platen and marked with the silk screen indicia. The frame is then moved over the transparent sheet and taped to the sheet. The sheet is then detached from the platen and moved away therefrom on the frame. The garment to be marked is then placed on the platen, and the transparent sheet and frame is temporarily returned to its original position and placed over the garment to be marked. The garment is then alignd so that the spot on the garment to be marked is directly below the indicia on the transparent sheet. The frame and sheet are then moved away and the garment is accurately printed.
