    • There is provided a paste application device which can solve problems of an increased exclusively occupied space attributed to an arrangement of a syringe and of deterioration of a tube.In a paste application unit 15 (a paste application device) for applying a paste 7 stored in a syringe 16 to an application target material, a configuration is adopted in which a pump mechanism 18 for sending the paste 7 under pressure is formed by causing a discharge thread portion 32b provided at a lower portion of a rotary member 32 to rotate about an axis AX within a discharge space 31b provided in a casing portion 31, in which a discharge port 17a, which communicates with the discharge space 31b, is provided at an end portion of the casing portion 31, and in which the syringe 16 is disposed coaxially with the rotary member 32 for detachable connection thereto. By adopting this configuration, the problems can be solved of the increased exclusively occupied space that would occur when the syringe 16 is disposed in parallel to the pump mechanism 18 and of deterioration of the tube.

    • There have been devices for storing and dispensing postage stamps. These devices have been very complex, bulky devices appropriate for offices where large volumes of mailings are made. There are also small simple devices consisting of a simple cylinder with a slot through which the stamps project for a later manual tearing and licking and placing on letters and parcels. This invention comprises a compact, simple and dependable device which not only stores a roll of stamps but also deploys the stamps individually, moistens the individually deployed stamps just prior to placement on a letter or parcel and severs the just moistened stamp for later pressing in an automatic and sequential fashion. The device includes features which permit each and every stamp to be deployed from the roll down to the very last stamp.

    • A liquid-adhesive applicator has a hollow cylindrical reservoir formed of a somewhat flexible plastic material and closed at each end by rigid plastic end caps. A stiff but bendable rod axially rotatably supports the reservoir, and is bent to form the shank of a handle for the applicator. The reservoir has a plurality of pairs of slits parallel to the axis of the reservoir and angled inwardly midway between radial and tangential orientation. Molded-on protuberances between the pairs of slits cause the slits to open when the applicator is pressed against a surface, such as the edge of a two-by-four stud, to apply adhesive thereto. In a second species the cylindrical reservoir and the end caps are cemented, or are thermoplastically welded, together; and are further made into a sealed toroidal reservoir by an axial tube that prevents leakage if the reservoir unit is discarded for throw-away replacement by a new head unit.
