    • A stable, free-flowing sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate powder is prepared by spray drying an aqueous solution or slurry of sodium dichloroisocyanurate to form a particulate product having a moisture content from about 12.0 to about 20.0% by weight and subjecting this product to specific stabilizing and cooling after-treatment steps in a plurality of fluidized and/or vibrating beds. During the stabilizing step the product is dried to the final moisture level, if necessary, and the water of hydration is uniformly distributed and firmly bound to the particulate product.

    • Processes are described for the preparation of certain potassium-containing chloroisocyanurate complex compounds, namely, hydrated and non-hydrated [(mono-trichloro,) tetra(monopotassium dichloro,)] penta-isocyanurate, which are useful as bleaching, sterilizing, oxidizing and disinfecting agents. These processes involve reacting in a substantially dry state, potassium dichloroisocyanurate monohydrate and a dichloroisocyanuric acid compound in amounts such that the molar ratio of the potassium dichloroisocyanurate monohydrate to said acid compound is in the range of 1:1 to 3:1.

    • Trichloroisocyanuric acid is produced by the reaction of a symmetrical triazine compound selected from the group consisting of ammelide, chlorosubstituted ammelide, an alkali metal salt of ammelide, ammeline, chlorosubstituted ammeline, an alkali metal salt of ammeline with hypochlorous acid. The number of moles of hypochlorous acid reacted per mole of the symmetrical triazine compound is at least X + 2Y where X represents the number of hydrogen and alkali metal atoms present in the triazine compound and Y represents the number of nitrogen atoms in the triazine compound which are replaced by oxygen atoms.
