摘要： A polymeric material that is heated and extruded to build 3D-printed objects has variable and reversible thermochromic properties which enable software-controlled color alteration according to the extrusion temperature of the 3D printer, enabling 3D printing of a single object, in multiple colors, using a stock 3D printer. This color alteration is reversible, allowing the printing material to revert to its original color when it is exposed to a certain temperature range. The embodiment enables stock 3D printers to produce multicolored objects via software control, without requiring printer modifications or the use of ancillary tools. It enables the printing of single objects in multiple colors, using a single stock material.

摘要： This invention provides a method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method comprising forming a multilayer coating film that has excellent blackness, high reflectance of an infrared laser, and excellent coating film performance. The method for forming a multilayer coating film includes forming a first colored coating film containing a titanium oxide pigment, in which the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 905 nm or diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 1550 nm, or both, is 40% or more; forming a second colored coating film containing at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of (A1) a perylene black pigment, (A2) a black metal oxide complex pigment, and (A3) two or more pigments selected from the group consisting of blue pigments, red pigments, yellow pigments, and green pigments; forming a third colored coating film containing a carbon black pigment; and forming a clear coating film; wherein the multilayer coating film has a lightness L*(45°) of 3 or less and a chroma C*(45°) of 1 or less, and wherein the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 905 nm or the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 1550 nm of the multilayer coating film, or both, is 10% or more.

摘要： A leuco dye pastel marking device for use with a substrate treated with an activator of the leuco dye, such that drawing upon the substrate will reveal a color, but drawing on a normal surface will have no visible effect. A solvent such as dimethyl adipate is used to store the leuco dye in a longer-lived, more stable, solid form, and varying hardnesses and consistencies may be achieved by the addition of 12 hydroxystearic acid and ethyl cellulose. The substrate may be treated selectively with the activator such that a texture, image, or hidden message is revealed by the application of the leuco dye pastel to the substrate. One or more substrates and one or more leuco dye pastel marking devices may be presented to a child as a coloring book with pastels that only visibly mark the coloring book and no other surface.

摘要： A colored paint that imparts a superhydrophobic surface on an object is a suspension of hydrophobic particles in a polymeric binder and a plasticizer in a solvent or mixed solvent, wherein at least a portion of the hydrophobic particles are colored particles. Colored particles can be ultramarine, iron oxide, chromium oxide, or any other colored metal oxide. The hydrophobic particles can be metal oxide particles that are surface functionalized with a fluorinated alkyl silane or an alkyl silane. The binder is a mixture of PDVF and PMMA in a ratio of 3:1 to 10:1. The plasticizer is a mixture of triethyl phosphate and perfluoro(butyltetrahydrofuran) or other perfluorinated hydrocarbon. Surfaces coated using this paint display contact angles in excess of 150° and resist abrasion.

When light is incident upon the pigment flakes from a light source, light reflected from the frame pattern forms a dynamic frame which surrounds the image and appears to move as the substrate is tilted with respect to the light source. The image appears to be stationary when the dynamic frame appears to move.

摘要： In a printed article, pigment flakes are magnetically aligned so as to form curved patterns in a plurality of cross-sections normal a continuous imaginary line, wherein radii of the curved patterns increase along the imaginary line from the first point to the second point. When light is incident upon the aligned pigment flakes from a light source, light reflected from the aligned pattern forms a bright image which appears to gradually change its shape and move from one side of the continuous imaginary line to another side of the continuous imaginary line when the substrate is tilted with respect to the light source.
