摘要： Shooting and guide members for a shuttle are arranged in a weaving machine. The shooting member comprises an air pressure source which supplies compressed air to one or more acceleration nozzles. The acceleration nozzle or nozzles are arranged to accommodate the shuttle at the time of shooting and, depending on the compressed-air supply, generating one or more air jets. The shuttle is made with surfaces which can be exposed to the air jets. The nozzle and guide members are arranged so as to guide the shuttle at least at the beginning of its shooting trajectory, when the air jet of the acceleration nozzle are brought into effect.

摘要： A protective coating adhered to the surface of a metal substrate such as a pipe using an adhesive composition containing an adhesive component and a polyhydroxy compound protects the substrate from corrosion. The adhesive has improved resistance to cathodic disbonding which generally weakens the adhesive bond between the protective coating and the substrate when a current is impressed through the substrate causing it to function as a cathode. The electric current inhibits loss of metal ions from the substrate to the environment thus reducing corrosion of the substrate.

摘要： An apparatus mounted on a weaving loom for moving a weft thread carrying mechanism from one end of a loom lay to the other through the shed of the warp threads. The apparatus includes a linkage having a drive mechanism which is rotated continuously and which maintains the weft thread carrying mechanism in a fixed position for an extended dwell period and then propels the weft thread carrying mechanism across the lay after the lay has beat up a prior weft thread and has been retracted to an inoperative position. The apparatus provides a substantial reduction in the noise level and power requirement over conventional looms and permits the speed of operation to be increased to improve production.
