    • A convertible capping system and methods of use thereof for capping a top portion of a sheet piling wall or other structure. A top panel of the capping system includes a widthwise spaced array of longitudinally extending parallel connection ribs, and defines an initial width at least equal to or greater than an intended final width, whereby a user can cut the top panel down to a desired final width corresponding to the thickness of the wall. A pair of side flanges have engagement features configured to attach to the connection ribs of the top panel after adjusting the width of the top panel, to assemble the capping system. A wave diverter and/or structural reinforcement system can optionally be provided with the convertible capping system or sheet piling wall.

    • An extruded containment barrier panel (5) for use in forming a containment barrier wall about a waste material storage or disposal site is disclosed. The containment barrier panel has an elongate body panel (10) with a top end (11), a spaced bottom end (12), and a first side edge (14) and a spaced parallel second side edge (15) extending from the top end to the bottom end of the body panel. A C-shaped female connecting member (17) is formed along the first side edge of the body panel, and a complimentary male connecting member (22) is formed along the second side edge of the body panel, both of which extend the length of the body panel. The male connecting member is sized and shaped to be slidably received within a second one of the female connecting members for forming an interlocked edge-standing relationship with a second one of the barrier panels, and both of the male and female connecting members may be rotated with respect to one another when one of the containment barrier panels is being joined to a second adjacent one of he containment barrier panels to form a containment barrier wall. The male connecting member has least two elongate seal members (32, 33, 34) extending the length thereof, and constructed and arranged to be placed into sealing engagement with the female connecting member of the second barrier panel such that a fluid-tight seal will be formed between adjacent ones of the barrier panels for preventing the migration of groundwater and/or underground gases from out or into the waste material storage or burial site.

    • A shoreline erosion prevention bulkhead system which employs a series of interlocking fiberglass panels. Each panel has elongated male and female interlocking elements extending along the opposite side edges such that, by introducing one end of the male interlocking element of a first panel into one end of a female interlocking element of an adjacent panel and sliding the interlocking elements together, a secure panel joint is achieved. In one presently preferred embodiment, the interlocking portions are generally cylindrical; however, other configurations for the interlocking portions are also included. A process for manufacturing the bulkhead panels includes the steps of emplacing a first layer of a fiberglass and curable resin mixture into a suitable support medium such as a mold, positioning the male and female interlocking elements along opposing sides, emplacing a second layer of the fiberglass and resin mixture over the first layer to capture tail portions of the interlocking units and then allowing the assembly to cure. The tail portions of the interlocking units may have serrated surfaces and/or a series of spaced apart apertures such that the fiberglass and resin layers are allowed to settle into the serrations and through the apertures during the emplacing and curing steps to more securely anchor the interlocking units.
