摘要： A glass anchoring system, for securing a pair of adjacent panels of structural glass to a mid support beam and creating a walkable glass. Each panel has a fastening edge and has an upper pane, a middle pane, and a lower pane. The middle pane has a cutout along the fastening edge. A pair of blocks fit within the cutouts and are laminated within the panels. When the panels are positioned upon the mid support beam, the blocks face each other across a gap between the adjacent panels. A connecting bar extends across the gap and into both of the blocks. A bolt extends in the gap, downwardly through the connecting bar, and tightens against the connecting bar as it secures to the mid support beam.

A translucent panel adapted to be slid through a slit opening formed between the top edges of the front and rear portions and held therebetween; an elongated bottom connecting member including a channel in a top portion thereof having a C-shaped cross section and adapted to frictionally slide over the T-shaped connecting portion and hold the front and rear portions firmly together along their bottom edges, and an elongated top connecting member including an elongated top portion and an elongated lower portion having a T-shaped cross section, such that the top connecting portion is adapted to frictionally slide along the top surface of the front and rear top portions and frictionally slide into the channel connecting portion to thereby hold the front and rear portions firmly together along their top edges, and wherein the top connecting member further includes an attachment portion adapted to releasably connect the decorative panel to a support member and held in place within a structural opening.

One aspect of the inventive subject matter includes an illumination system comprising a solar redirector and at least one optical converter. The solar redirector can be configured to extend outward from a wall of a building and to redirect sunlight to exterior sections of the wall below the solar redirector. The optical converter can be configured to mount on at least one of the exterior sections of the wall and to receive the redirected sunlight and distribute the redirected sunlight to an interior of the building.
