    • A system for maneuvering a plug in and out of a tubing hanger mounts to a subsea wellhead assembly. The system includes a tractor and an end effector that are sheltered in a housing. A control cable spools from a reel mounted on the housing and attaches to the tractor. The control cable provides communication from a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to the tractor and end effector so that commands from the ROV via the control cable control the tractor and end effector. After the housing connects to the wellhead assembly, control signals from the ROV activate the tractor to drive the end effector into the wellhead assembly and command the end effector to set the plug in the tubing hanger, or to remove the plug from the tubing hanger.

    • A releasable guidepost extension is used on the seabed together with a bottom fixed guidepost part. These parts make up a guidepost for use during the lowering of a component from the surface of the water to a subsea structure. The guidepost part includes an upward (in use position) projecting end designed for engagement with a lower (in use position) end of the guidepost extension. The guidepost extension is loosely connected to the bottom fixed guidepost part via a pin and socket part on respective ends. A gap, or clearance, exists between the pin and socket part in the longitudinal direction, and at least one friction forming device arranged in the gap on either the pin part or in the socket part. The friction forming device does not get in contact, or engaged, with the other part unless the guidepost extension is subjected to a lateral force.

    • An installation comprising a base frame 1 having four locations 2 for well heads 20 and a manifold frame 10 disposed in overhanging fashion inside the zone defined by frame 1. Frame 10 has four locations 17 for a stacked pair of connecting 30 and monitoring 40 modules, as well as a central location 17' for a central control module 50. Each module is provided with guide members 26, 32, 41, 52, for example sleeves, whose geometry corresponds to that of guide devices 3, 18 placed either on guide bases 2 of the frames 1, 10 or on the underlying module, such as guide columns 18. Each module comprises on its lower face a mechanical connector 16 cooperating with a mandril 12 carried on the upper face of the underlying module. The control of locking of the connector is provided by an internal multiconnector receptacle 24, 34, 43, 57 which each module comprises. In this remote control installation, the production head zone can be separated from the functional module zone and the modules can be stacked in the order of decreasing reliability, so as to provide easy access to the less reliable modules.
