    • A reciprocating compressor is provided. Bearing holes of a fluid bearing of the compressor may be positioned correspond to a full reciprocating region of a piston, to reduce/eliminate frictional loss and/or abrasion between a cylinder and the piston. The bearing holes may be concentrated at certain regions of the cylinder to stably support the piston through a full reciprocating range. Compression coil springs may maintain concentric alignment of the cylinder and the piston. Gas through holes may be radially formed at the piston to lower a pressure of a bearing space and allow refrigerant to be smoothly introduced into the bearing space through a gas pocket. A casing of the compressor may include an outer shell and an inner shell to attenuate vibration generated due to friction generated by operation of the reciprocating compressor.

    • An engine body includes a crankcase with a crank chamber therein, a cylinder block attached to the crankcase, and a breather passage which selectively permits fluid communication between the crank chamber and an area outside of the crank chamber. The engine body includes a one-way valve between the crank chamber and the breather passage, which allows a one-way flow of gases from the crank chamber to the breather passage. The one-way valve is pressure-operated and is operatively attached to a side wall of the engine body proximate a cylinder sleeve. The one-way valve may be mounted in a mounting window in a side wall of the crankcase, and a timing chamber may function as the breather passage. In an illustrative embodiment, the one-way valve includes a base plate having a valve hole formed therein, and a flexible reed valve plate with one end affixed to the base plate.

    • A non-internal combustion reciprocating engine has an enhanced mechanical advantage lever system for efficiently converting linear motion from reciprocating pistons to rotary motion at a crankshaft. The engine comprises a chassis, at least two sets of binary cylinder systems mounted on the chassis, a crankshaft and a lever system. Each lever system has a piston lever, two thrust rods and a central drive lever. Each piston lever is pivotally attached to the chassis and pivotally attached to a piston rod extending from a piston cylinder. The two thrust rods are pivotally attached at one terminus to the piston lever and pivotally attached at a second terminus to the central drive lever. The two piston cylinders of each binary cylinder system work in concert to efficiently transfer power to the crankshaft.

    • A dual rocking piston pump is disclosed which includes a first piston with a first connecting rod eccentrically mounted to a rotor shaft and a second piston with a second connecting rod eccentrically mounted to the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft passes through a first bearing and a second bearing before being connected to a rotor body. The rotor body is disposed within a stator. The first and second bearings and stator are supported by a bracket. The bracket includes a hub which, in turn includes a first end connected to a wall at an opening in the wall. The hub also includes a second end. The first end of the hub supports the first bearing at the wall and the second end of the hub supports the second bearing. Both the first and second bearings are disposed to “in front” of the motor or in front of both the rotor and stator. Because support for the rotor is provided entirely in front of the motor, no rear bell housing is required and because a single bracket supports the bearings, rotor and stator, fewer parts are required thereby making the pump lighter and more compact.
