    • A fan driving circuit drives a first fan and a second fan which are connected in parallel and connected to an anode of a direct current power. The fan driving circuit includes a pulse width modulation signal generation module, a phase lock and delay module, a first pulse output comparator and a first capacitor. The width modulation signal generation module is connected between an external power and the first fan. The phase lock and delayed module is electrically connected to the pulse width modulation signal generation module. The first capacitor is connected between the DC and the ground. The first fan is supplied as normal by a PWM power supply, the second fan is powered by “shadow” and out-of-phase pulses taken from an inductor in the first fan and stored in the capacitor, to achieve a “two-for-one” power supply aspect, which saves power and reduces operational noise.

    • A choke valve (safety valve) is provided in association with a submergible pump employed in oil wells or the like to prevent the flow of well fluid toward the well head when the pump is not operating. Differential pressure across the pump is employed to open the valve, and the valve closes automatically when the pump is de-energized. Bottom-hole pressure merely closes the valve more tightly. A reciprocating tapered valve member controls the opening and closing of a longitudinal passage through a tubular valve housing, the differential pump pressure being applied across an annular piston reciprocating in an annular chamber surrounding the longitudinal passage and connected to the valve member by a plurality of longitudinal piston rods, springs surrounding the piston rods biasing the valve member to a closed position. The storm choke can be operated by fluid pressure applied from the earth's surface in order to permit "killing the well" or flushing sand from the choke.

    • An air compression system for use in chemical processing operation. A primary air compression system module includes, on a common shaft, a multi-stage high pressure ratio compressor for supplying compressed air for the process, a pair of bearings support the common shaft and straddle the multi-stage compressor, a steam turbine is located on one end of the common shaft for providing start-up and supplemental power to the air compression module when necessary, and a radial inflow hot gas expander is provided on the opposite end of the common shaft which receives hot gas from the process for expansion thereof to provide the main power source for the air compression module. The air compression module is characterized by high power, relatively high speed operation suitable for applications in chemical processing industries and is a skid-mounted unit for ease of installation, and minimum overall reliability maintenance. It can be employed along with further process turbomachinery for the particular process concerned.
