    • The invention relates to a mechanical transmission device for transmitting a threshold force, the device comprising a first element (1; 101) and a second element (2; 102) rotatably mounted relative to each other about an axis of rotation (X), and having a transmitter member (10; 110) interposed between them to constrain the two elements to rotate together when a torque is imparted to one of the elements for transmitting the torque to the other one of the elements, up to a threshold torque beyond which the two elements become movable in rotation against an opposing torque equal to the threshold torque, the transmitter member comprising: at least a first friction disk (11; 111) constrained to rotate with the first element, and a second friction disk (12; 112) facing the first disk; a bearing member (13; 113) that is axially movable to press the disks together and against a bearing turntable (15; 115) of the first element under drive from a presser member; and rotary drive means (20, 21; 120, 121) interposed between the bearing member and the second element, which rotary drive means are arranged to cause the bearing member to move axially against the spring member during rotation.

    • A damper for a torque converter, including: a cover plate for a damper; a turbine hub with a surface; and a pilot element rotationally connected to the cover plate and having a surface slidingly engaged with the surface for the turbine hub. The respective surfaces for the turbine hub and the pilot element are at least partially radially aligned and the pilot element is arranged to center the damper with respect to a longitudinal axis for the torque converter. In some aspects, the pilot element includes at least one axial protrusion engaged with the cover plate. In some aspects, the pilot element is formed of stamped metal. In some aspects, the pilot element is axially stabilized with respect to the turbine hub and the cover plate. In some aspects, the pilot element includes at least one radial protrusion slidingly engaged with a radial surface for the turbine hub.

    • An anti-friction pad for a bushed pivot connection of a main leaf spring and a secondary leaf spring of a spring mounted air spring suspension of a vehicle. The pivot connection includes a bushing, a main leaf spring having an eye receiving the bushing and a secondary leaf spring having an eye receiving the eye of the main leaf spring and the inside surfaces of bushing hanger bracket. The anti-friction pad has an elongated main body portion positioned between and in contact with the main leaf spring and the secondary leaf spring. The anti-friction pad also has side walls which engage the secondary leaf spring. The anti-friction pad has a center post which seats in a socket of the secondary leaf spring. The main body portion of the pad has an outer convex surface which mates with a concave face of the main leaf spring. The anti-friction pad is formed of an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene.
