摘要： A system and method to add an additional drive axle to a vehicle may include an auxiliary shaft aperture bored through the differential housing and an auxiliary shaft sleeve mounted over the aperture. An auxiliary shaft has a splined end interconnected to a modified pinion and a short transfer drive shaft interconnect disposed on an opposite end thereof, the short transfer drive shaft interconnect extending out from the modified differential housing through the auxiliary shaft sleeve. A short transfer drive shaft is operatively interconnected to the auxiliary shaft and rotational therewith. Further, an additional drive axle assembly is mounted to the vehicle rearward of the original drive axle, and the modified differential is operatively interconnected to an additional drive axle via the short transfer drive shaft, such that when the short transfer drive shaft rotates with the auxiliary shaft, the additional drive axle rotates with the original drive axle.

摘要： A drive device for driving wheels of a motor vehicle includes a housing, an electric machine with a stator and rotor, a first output shaft for driving a first wheel, and a second output shaft for driving a second wheel. Via a differential transmission, first and second planetary gearsets are drivable by the rotor. First and second differential shafts transfer drive power from the differential transmission to the first and second planetary gearsets. The first differential shaft is mounted rotatably on an input shaft via bearings and the rotor is connected non-rotationally to the input shaft. A stable and non-buckling bearing of the second differential shaft in relation to the rotor is carried out via further bearings arranged on the second differential shaft or in the first differential shaft. The further bearings are arranged spaced apart from one another at least at a distance of twice an average bearing diameter.

摘要： A vehicle axle assembly including an axle housing, carrier assembly, and first and second axle shafts. The axle housing is formed from an upper beam and a lower beam that are positioned in a clam-shell arrangement. The carrier assembly includes a carrier housing and a differential that includes a ring gear arranged in meshing engagement with a pinion. The first and second axle shafts extend outwardly from the differential in opposite directions. The pinion is rotatably supported by a self-lubricating cartridge pinion input bearing and the outboard ends of the first and second axle shafts are rotatably supported by self-lubricating and unitized grease wheel end bearings. These bearings do not require lubrication from oil contained inside the axle housing allowing for a reduced oil fill level in the axle housing, creating less viscous losses and better efficiency.
