摘要： A fire control lockout assembly restricts a semiautomatic style firearm to single shot operation by requiring specific, sequential manual manipulation of the firearm by the operator prior to firing a subsequent round from the firearm. The lockout assembly has a modified safety selector and a modified disconnector and/or a modified trigger assembly that interrupts the usual automatic progression of the fire control group components after firing the firearm by increasing the upward distance the trigger sear must travel before contacting the disconnector. The increased distance prevents the hammer from automatically being released from the disconnector. The modified safety selector has a barrel that presses downward on the rearward end of the disconnector to release the hammer. After firing a round, the safety selector must be moved to its safe position and then to its fire position in order to fire a subsequent round from the firearm.

The mechanism may comprise a user-actuated release button and spring-biased disconnect lever coupled thereto and selectively engageable with the hammer. Upon firing, the bolt travels rearward under recoil contacting and partially rotating the disconnect lever to engage the hammer, while simultaneously engaging the hammer which holds the bolt rearward. Actuating the release button fully rotates the disconnect lever to disengage the hammer from the bolt which returns to its forward position via a recoil spring to reclose the breech. A dual interlock safety in one position provided by the release mechanism prevents pulling the trigger and in another position prevents actuating the release button.

摘要： A firearm has a frame, a barrel assembly, a slide assembly which holds a recoil assembly, and a firing system with a trigger assembly and safety mechanism. The slide and recoil assemblies are located above the barrel so that the barrel is situated between the topmost part of the frame and the bottom of the slide assembly. The barrel assembly includes a housing which is covered by the slide assembly and secures one side of the recoil assembly. The barrel can be removably connected to the frame through front and rear mounts with removable pins and can modularly connect with the frame and slide assembly so that different caliber barrels can be interchanged. In addition to the trigger, the trigger assembly has a hammer, a sear, a lever arm that engages the trigger, sear and hammer, and springs that bias the trigger assembly components.

In the single-shot mode, the firing lever engages the hammer and retains it in tension while the trigger is depressed. When the continuous firing mode is selected, the firing lever is moved to an inactive position and retained by an engaging element. The engaging element is preferably a slider which is controlled by a safety and firing cessation roller that is actuated by an operating lever.
