摘要： Caloric counting method and apparatus comprises a base support structure, a plate support structure pivotally mounted on the base support structure, and scale means connected to said plate support structure at a point remote from the pivot line thereof. A plate carrying a combination of food components constituting an entire meal is positioned on the plate support structure to determine the total caloric content of the entire meal. The plate is provided with indicia defining different zones on the plate for foods having different calories per gram, these zones being arranged so that the zone corresponding to foods having the least calories per gram is positioned nearest the pivotal mounting of the plate support structure when the plate is positioned thereon. The patient places the food components constituting an entire meal in the correct zones on the plate and the total caloric content of the entire meal is determined in a single operation by reading the scale which is calibrated in calories.

摘要： A weighing system includes a weight-dependently movable dial having a plurality of price scales each indicating the price-perweight on the basis of a different unit price. A projection screen is provided, and an optical system is movable relative to the dial in dependence upon a selected unit price and operative for projecting onto the screen a portion of that price scale which is most closely associated with the selected unit price. An indicator arrangement indicates the price of a weighed item on the projected portion of a price scale on the screen. The arrangement is fixable so as to indicate the starting values and end values of the projected price scale under no-load and fullload conditions of the machine, respectively, and it is also selectively and weight-dependently movable so as to indicate the starting value by a different end value of the projected scale portion under the respective load conditions, the end value being based upon a unit price different from that assigned to the projected scale portion.

摘要： An automatic price calculation scale is disclosed, the scale including an inclination pendulum which is deflectable through an angle about a rotational axis in dependence on the weight to be measured. An elongated guide means is attached to the pendulum means and extends in a direction generally outwardly from the rotational axis thereof. Slide means are displaceably mounted in the guide means at an adjustable distance from the rotational axis of the pendulum means and a displaceable horizontally extending member is pivotally connected to the slide means and is mounted on a carriage means which is vertically displaceable. Angular deflection of the pendulum means brings about a horizontal movement of the horizontally extending member, the extent of the horizontal movement being indicative of and read as the total price of the object being weighed and further being a function of the angular deflection of the pendulum and the distance that the slide means is mounted from the rotational axis of the pendulum means determined by the vertical displacement of the carriage means. The vertical displacement of the carriage means is automatically undertaken in response to a base price scale for the object set on an electrical keyboard switching means.

摘要： A vending device has at least one display area and an evaluator. The display area is formed by a rigid body, and has at least two, spatially-separated product areas, the rigid body of the display area being held by force transmission areas of at least two weighing cells. The evaluator is configured to, at periodic intervals or when a total weight detected by the at least two weighing cells changes: determine new coordinates of a center of gravity from data of the weighing cells, and transmit the new coordinates to a controller. The controller is configured to: determine a product area within the display area based upon changes in the coordinates of the center of gravity, determine, from the change in a total weight, the weight of goods removed from or added to the determined product area, and update an inventory, stored in a memory, for the product.
