摘要： An inventory management system according to an embodiment comprises: a weight measurer configured to measure a weight of a shelf on which an item can be placed; and an RF tag configured to transmit a wireless signal including information related to the weight measured by the weight measurer in response to a read request from a wireless device, wherein the RF tag includes a transceiver configured to generate power by a received electromagnetic wave or magnetic field and transmit the wireless signal to the wireless device by using the generated power, a storage configured to store therein the information related to the weight measured by the weight measurer, and a controller configured to cause the transceiver to transmit the wireless signal including the information related to the weight stored in the storage to the wireless device.

摘要： A tactile handle integrated scale that measures the weight of an attached element and provides tactile output. The handle with an integrated scale can be attached onto luggage, a briefcase, a backpack, or other liftable objects. The scale provides tactile output and a tactile gauge, so that users can ascertain the weight using touch only and without requiring visual inspection of the gauge. A switch may be provided to enable or disable the measurement feature of the handle. The handle may be attached to the liftable object using linkages that permit rotation of the object relative to the handle.

摘要： Systems and methods for reducing erroneous weighing of items such as by detecting items extending beyond a periphery of a weigh platter whereby in one configuration, the system employs a light guide for routing a light beam to a detector operative to detect interruption of the beam due to an item encroaching upon or overhanging an edge of the platter. In another configuration, the scale includes a perimeter gap between the platter outer edge and scanner housing frame or checkout counter, a light beam directed angularly upward through the gap is partially obstructed by the frame and platter whereby light exits the gap forming a light plane, wherein an object placed on the platter extending across the gap intersects the light plane thus scattering light rays, some of which are sensed by a detector. Various indicators for alerting the operator of off-scale detection are also described.

摘要： A portable weighing scale of reduced size is adapted to permit the weighing of a person while standing with one foot on the platform of the scale, the weight being manifested by an indicator dial which is latched in weight-indicating position and which maintains the weight indication after the person being weighed has stepped off of the platform. A linkage which permits a degree of lost motion is interposed between the platform and the indicator dial, so that the platform can return to its normal position while the indicator dial remains in weight-indicating position, where it remains until reset to its zero position by operation of a latch release. The scale is stable and does not tend to tip over, even when a person's weight is concentrated at one corner of the platform. A one-piece base incorporates, at fixed positions, a plurality of knife edges, formed integrally with the base, which supports the levers and beams making up the linkage between the platform and the indicator dial. The integral construction of the base assures accurate location of the knife edges in relation to each other and achieves maximum accuracy of the scale.
