摘要： A device for measuring hair properties has a first part (I) and a second part (II) between which hair (H) is guided. The first part includes a measuring probe (MP), and the second part is arranged for deforming the hair against the measuring probe. While the device moves along the hair, the measuring probe experiences both a friction force resulting from the hair being guided along the measuring probe, and a deformation force resulting from hair deformation by the second part against the measuring probe. The second part includes a pressure element (PB, S) for pressing the hair against the measuring probe. In alternative embodiments, the second part comprises alignment elements (AE) at opposite sides of the measuring probe, and guidance elements (G) for mitigating an influence of an angle at which the device is applied to the hair to the friction force and/or the deformation force.

摘要： A hybrid spectral imager apparatus has an imaging head arrangement (IHA), a control and processing unit (CPU), and a display. The IHA includes an optical imager, multiband filtering optics (MBFO), and a sensor arrangement. The optical imager collects and focuses an image of a target scene or object along an imaging path. The multiband optics includes a beam divider for generating at least two replica images of the target image, and a multiband filter (MF) interposed into the imaging path and effecting multi-bandpass filtering in the image replicas. The sensor arrangement has at least one Mosaic filter array (MFA) focal plane array (FPA) sensor onto which the multiband filtered image replicas are focused, and a focal plane array masked, in a pixelized manner, with at least three wide-band primary color-type filters, with each primary color-type response separating and capturing one single-band. The CPU is coupled to the IHA and is configured to execute program instructions for calibrating image acquisition processes, controlling and synchronizing the acquisition/capturing of the image replicas by the MFA sensor arrangement, and spectrally purifying the MFA sensor arrangement responses to compensate band cross-talking between the MFA and the MF. The display is configured to display on a user interface at least the acquired single-band images. The CPU is further configured to reconstruct and display, on the display, a set of at least three different single-band images per MFA-FPA sensor employed. The IHA is configured to capture sets of different single-band images for video snapshot spectral imaging at desired spectral bands within the FPA sensor arrangement spectral sensitivity range.

摘要： In a general aspect, a swab sample is analyzed, for example, to test for disease. In some examples, a swab head of a swab sample is inserted through an opening into an internal reservoir of a sampling device. The sampling device includes the opening, an inlet channel, an outlet channel, and the internal reservoir. The internal reservoir is in fluid communication with the inlet channel, the outlet channel, and the opening. A liquid solvent is supplied to the swab head in the internal reservoir via the inlet channel of the sampling device. The swab head is held in the liquid solvent for a period of time to form an analyte in the internal reservoir. The analyte is extracted from the internal reservoir via the outlet channel of the sampling device. The analyte is transferred to and processed by a mass spectrometer to obtain mass spectrometry data.
