摘要： This application provides a method for measuring an azimuth of a base station antenna. The method includes: obtaining angular velocity data measured by an angular motion detection apparatus that is stationary relative to a base station antenna, and obtaining a position relationship between a direction of a sensitive axis of the angular motion detection apparatus and a direction of a main lobe of the base station antenna; determining, based on the angular velocity data, a first position relationship between the direction of the sensitive axis of the angular motion detection apparatus and a true north direction; and determining an azimuth of the base station antenna based on the first position relationship and a second position relationship between the direction of the sensitive axis of the angular motion detection apparatus and the direction of the main lobe of the base station antenna.

摘要： A millimeter wave imaging system is disclosed which has wide applicability throughout transportation and related industries. For example, the system may be used to provide an aircraft pilot with an image of a landing field which is essentially unaffected by fog, rain, snow, blowing sand, etc. The system comprises an array of imaging elements as its fundamental component. Each of the imaging elements of the basic array comprises an antenna consisting of a pair of conductive elements and a non-linear circuit element connected thereacross. A image can then be formed responsive to millimeter-wave radiation without complex processing steps or any form of mechanical or electronic scanning.To increase the sensitivity of the imaging array system, a local oscillator signal may be mixed with the energy received from the field of view in each of the imaging elements by the non-linear circuit element. The oscillator used to provide the local oscillator signal can also be used to illuminate the field of view. Coded beacons emitting encoded millimeter wave energy for detection by the imaging array may also be employed.

摘要： An antenna system for locating a microwave signal source utilizing two directional finding antennas (1,2) which have major radiation lobes (3,4) which are identical and are angularly offset relative to each other in the bearing plane but overlap so that the angular position of the signal source can be identified within the overlapping range of the lobes of the two antenna by using signal level comparison or ratio formation of two signal voltages received from the two antennas (1,2). False or ambiguous bearings occurring from side lobes which overlap are avoided by the use of a pair of auxiliary radiators (13, 14) which are associated with each of the primary directional finding antennas (1,2) and wherein the primary radiation direction of the auxiliary radiators are offset in the bearing plane by a specific angle relative to the direction of the primary direction finding antennas. The result is that the radiation level of each of the direction finding antennas (1,2) is accentuated on one side relative to the primary radiation direction. The antenna system with the present invention are also useful in intelligence radio transmitting and receiving systems.

摘要： In one aspect, a method of wireless communication by a wireless device includes generating, by the wireless device, a protocol data unit (PDU) header and a corresponding PDU payload of an angle of arrival (AoA) packet. The generating of the PDU payload includes inserting a supplemental field and a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) field into the PDU payload. The supplemental field is configured to enable another wireless device to determine an angle of arrival of the AoA packet and the CRC field corresponds to a CRC of at least the supplemental field. The method also includes transmitting the AoA packet with a single antenna of the wireless device.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed towards direction finding (DF) systems that can detect and locals a radio frequency (RF) signal (e.g. an emergency beacon) is two dimensions (i.e., azimuth and elevation). In one embodiment, a DF system comprises an array of multipolarized loop antennas coupled to a beamformer which provides monopole, dipole, and loop antenna element modal signals. The DF system may also comprise a multi-channel digital receiver system coupled to the beamformer. The multi-channel digital receiver system is configured to receive modal signals provided thereto from the beamformer which can be used for accurate two-dimensional geolocation of RF signals including, but not limited to, location of RF emergency beacon sources.
