    • An image projection apparatus includes cooling fans 10, 12, and 16 provided inside a chassis 17 and configured to take in cooling air from a cooling inlet port 17a formed in the chassis, an air filter 22 that covers the cooling inlet port, an exhaust port 19a formed in the chassis and configured to exhaust the cooling air from an inside to an outside of the chassis, and a cleaning fan 25 provided inside the chassis and configured to take in cleaning air from a cleaning inlet port 17b formed in the chassis separately from the exhaust port. The image projection apparatus exhausts the cleaning air discharged from the cleaning fan, from the inside to the outside of the chassis via the cooling inlet port and the air filter.

    • A projector includes: a light source; a light modulation device which modulates a light emitted from the light source and forms image light; a projection device which magnifies and projects the image light; and an exterior casing, wherein on a light exiting surface for the image light of the exterior casing, a first opening is formed and a projection direction change unit which opens and closes the first opening is provided, and the projection direction change unit has: a cover which has a second opening for passing the image light from the projection device and which is provided rotatably in an off-plane direction with respect to the light exiting surface and thus opens and closes the first opening; a shutter which is movably provided along an inner surface of the cover and thus opens and closes the second opening; and a reflection mirror which is provided on an inner surface of the shutter and reflects the image light from the projection device.

    • As optical elements for bending a light beam when it passes through an element face constituting one plane, a plurality of unit optical elements for reflecting light on one or more mirror surfaces arranged perpendicularly or at an angle nearly perpendicular to the element face are disposed to constitute an optical imaging element. Light emitted from projection object disposed on one side of the element face is reflected on the mirror surface when it passes through the element face so that a real image is formed in a space on the other side of the element face where a physical entity does not exist, thus constituting a display equipped with the optical imaging element.
