摘要： A detection system for measuring one or more condition within a predetermined area includes a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light. The at least one fiber optic cable defines a node arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A light source is coupled to the at least one fiber optic cable for emitting a modulated light to the node. The modulated light is transmitted into the predetermined area. A light sensitive device is coupled to the at least one fiber optic cable for receiving scattered light associated with the node. A control unit is operably coupled to the light source and to the light sensitive device to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the one or more conditions within the predetermined area.

摘要： A clip is provided. The clip includes first and second shells shaped to mate around a band. An inward facing surface of the first shell has a lateral groove shaped to accommodate the fiber optic filament of the band and at least one protrusion. When the first and second shells are mated around the band the at least one protrusion passes through one of the holes in the band and engages a matching groove in an inward facing surface of the second shell. The first and second shells have a shape such that, when the first shell and the second shell mate around the band and lock into the connector, the first shell and the second shell collectively block any exterior light from reaching the light detection circuitry of the connector along the path of the band other than light through the fiber optic filament.

摘要： An integrated communication and smoke detection system includes a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light, the at least one fiber optic cable defining a node arranged to measure one or more conditions at a predetermined area. A control system operably coupled to the fiber harness such that scattered light associated with the node is transmitted to the control system, wherein the control system analyzes the scattered light to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the one or more conditions at the node. The control system is configured to allow multiple inputs and outputs for communication of information through the fiber harness and node using modulated light.

摘要： A method is provided for detecting intrusion into an optical cable of a single mode optical fiber network comprising where monitoring light signals are transmitted along a telecommunications optical fiber to be monitored either along a fiber additional to a data fiber or by multiplexing onto a common fiber. The received monitoring light signals after transmission along the telecommunications optical fiber are analyzed for changes indicative of movement of the optical fiber for detecting an intrusion event. The monitoring light signals at the receive end of the fiber signals are monitored by feeding the signals from the single mode fiber into a multi-mode fiber in a manner which causes changes in modal power distribution which can be detected by taking a portion only of the modes.

摘要： A distributed optical fiber disturbance positioning system based on the asymmetric dual Mach-Zehnder interference, unlike traditional dual Mach-Zehnder distributed optical fiber disturbance sensing system, the present invention adopts two narrow-bandwidth optical sources (1a, 1b) and adopts corresponding DWDM (3a, 3b) before the detector (4a, 4b) to filter the backscatter noise of the optical fiber, and can solve the problems of having too low SNR due to backscatter influence when the sensing distance is long. The present invention also provides a positioning method for applying the system, which obtains the TFD of the disturbance frame signals by using the time-frequency analysis method based on the short-term average frequency, and takes the points near the point of maximum frequency as the effective signal segment for performing cross-correlation time delay estimation, thus obtaining the delay, and the disturbance position. The method of the invention positions the asymmetric disturbance frame signals in the systems, thus having a high positioning accuracy and reliability.

摘要： An intrusion detecting method using an intrusion detecting system which includes an optical fiber line installed in an area in which intrusion is to be detected, a laser diode inputting an optical signal to the optical fiber line, a photodiode detecting a reflected optical signal when the optical signal is reflected from the optical fiber line, an intrusion determining unit comparing a waveform of the reflected optical signal detected by the photodiode with a set reference waveform to determine whether an intrusion has occurred, and a laser diode temperature measuring unit measuring a temperature of the laser diode, includes designating, by the intrusion determining unit, a temperature of the laser diode at a first point in time as a first temperature and setting, to a reference waveform, a waveform of a first reflected optical signal caused by an input optical signal input by the laser diode at the first point in time, designating, by the intrusion determining unit, a temperature of the laser diode at a second point in time after the first point in time as a second temperature and determining whether the second temperature is within an allowable range with respect to the first temperature, and when it is determined that the second temperature exceeds the allowable range, resetting, by the intrusion determining unit, to the reference waveform, a waveform of a second reflected optical signal caused by an input optical signal input by the laser diode at the second point in time.
