摘要： A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for generating structured trajectories based on probe data for simulating traffic flow. Methods include: receiving a plurality of sequences of probe data points; identifying splitting points in each of the plurality of sequences representing points where a respective sequence is split and decomposed into a plurality of legs; identifying the plurality of legs between pairs of splitting points; grouping legs according to a hierarchical optimizer into bunches of legs; determining, from the bunches of legs, a map representation of a road network; composing bunches of legs into a directed graph based on leg continuations, where the directed graph is formed by bunches of legs connected to continuation bunches of legs, and graph nodes of the directed graph represent intersection decision points; and simulating a condition including traffic flow within the road network based on decisions made at the intersection decision points.

摘要： A traffic management system for controlling traffic flow in an area is provided. The system has sensors (10) positioned at respective junctions (2) in the area, forming a network of nodes (2). Software (25) processes the sensor signals to derive vehicle signatures indicative of a particular vehicle detected at the node at a particular time. This is used to track the progress of vehicles traveling across the network and derive vehicle statistics (60) as to traffic volumes (64), routes (66) and journey times (62) at various times. Artificial intelligence (AI) (80) trained on historical vehicle statistics arranged to predict traffic arriving at plural junctions at a future time based on receiving a current count of vehicles sensed at nodes in the network. Based on the prediction, a control plan for traffic lights (3) is determined to optimise traffic flow.

The system comprises a road and traffic network information subsystem, an urban traffic control subsystem and a road-users' route guidance subsystem. The second subsystem generates a real-time optimal signal timing plan for each intersection based on the real-time traffic information of its connecting road sections. 摘要： The present invention relates to a traffic intersection and traffic guidance system therefor, that has an intersection region where two roads cross, and a distal crossover zone that allows vehicles that are turning to the right (on a left-hand-drive road) to crossover to the right hands side of the road at a distance from the intersection. In this way, a separate right turn phase is not required by the traffic lights at the intersection, and vehicles turning right can turn at the same time as vehicle moving straight over the intersection or turning left. The turning right lane approaching the distal crossover zone from a distal side of the distal crossover zone is located on the far left, allowing vehicles going straight to continue to move in a straight line. Lanes that guide vehicles moving straight are reconfigurable to guide vehicles to move in opposed directions at different time of the day, depending on the traffic loading, and are also reconfigurable as parking spaces. Bicycle lanes are also provided that are received form the intersection region between the turning right lane proximal of the distal crossover zone and the going straight lanes approaching the intersection region.
