摘要： Keyboards that are selectably configurable between a standard interface and a braille interface. In embodiments, the keyboard is equipped with six keys corresponding to six dots of a braille matrix, each of the keys equipped with a shape memory alloy spring or other mechanism to cause each of the keys to selectably extend above the keyboard plane. On activation, the six keys are extended and the remaining keys deactivated, to provide an easy to locate braille interface. On subsequent activation, the six keys are retracted and the keyboard is reverted to a standard interface. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

For instance, a computing device may receive a first input at a first location of a display. The computing device may then determine a positioning for the user interface, where the user interface may be substantially centered about the first location. In some instances, the computing device may display the user interface using the positioning. The computing device may then receive a second input corresponding to swipe from the first location of the display to a second location of the display. The computing device may then determine a symbol included in the user interface based at least in part on the second input. In some instances, the user interface includes a keypad for entering a personal identification number associated with a payment instrument.

摘要： Disclosed is a braille display that is impact resistant and that employs a modular construction. The impact resistance is achieved, in part, by molded and resilient end caps. Each end cap includes a centrally positioned slit that functions in absorbing lateral impacts to the display. The impact resistance is further achieved by an over molded housing that is positioned about an associated USB connector. The modularity of the display is achieved by way of a subassembly that is releasably secured within the interior of a main housing. The subassembly, in turn, includes a series of cell compartments that are arranged in groups. Each group of cell compartments is controlled by an individual shift register. This allows a grouping cell compartments to be removed and replaced as needed without disturbing the remaining cell components.

The device may comprise a control unit for analysis and conversion of data as well as transmitting and receiving signals connected by wires to the contact groups and vibration signal devices. The method for receiving and transmitting information is performed using the device connected to a computer or smartphone having software installed for converting Braille characters into the alphabet or voice and backwards.

摘要： The present invention relates to a touch screen device having a braille support function and a control method therefor, the touch screen device including: a touch screen sensing a touch location of a user; and a controller entering at least one of a first mode and a second mode according to a use direction of the touch screen, the controller recognizing the touch screen as one braille cell in the first mode, and recognizing the touch screen as two braille cells in the second mode, thereby receiving braille input depending on the touch location of the user. By using this, it is possible to easily and precisely input six-dot braille on a touch screen and to input abbreviations and symbols of a twelve-dot system.
