摘要： A brushless winding field rotational electric machine positioned between a starting device and a case enclosing the starting device includes: a stator, which is held to the case, including an alternating-current coil configured to generate a rotation magnetic field by alternating current; a field core, which is held to the case, including a field coil to be excited by direct current; and a rotor disposed on an outer periphery of the starting device and rotatably held about a rotational axis relative to the stator and the field coil. The rotor includes a connection portion to be connected to a synchronized rotation member configured to rotate in synchronization with an engine along the rotational axis, on a facing surface to the synchronized rotation member.

摘要： A reluctance motor has salient teeth on both the stator and the rotor. The reluctance motor includes electrical coils that are usable to generate magnetic flux to drive rotation of the rotor. Concentrated coil windings are wound around each stator tooth. The electrical coils are arranged across all the stator teeth of the reluctance motor to enable the reluctance motor to be driven by alternating current. The electrical coils are arranged so that, when excited with alternating current, the number of magnetic half-poles is equal to the number of teeth on the rotor. The reluctance machine can operate using an inverter instead of an asymmetric bridge.

摘要： An exterior rotor switched reluctance machine includes a stator, a rotor adjacent the stator and adjacent a housing, the housing connected to the stator. The stator further includes a back iron, a set of stator poles connected to the back iron and a set of windings disposed between the set of stator poles. The rotor, connected to a shaft and rotatively coupled to the stator, further includes a set of rotor segments. The set of windings includes a set of phases, each phase experiencing a flux linkage that varies with an angular position of the rotor. The apparatus operates as a motor in response to selectively energizing the set of phases with a set of current pulses. The apparatus operates as a generator in response to rotating the shaft.

The stator has an even number of longitudinal grooves for each pair of poles and the rotor has a plurality of adjacent slots defining an even number of magnetically equivalent slots. The number of grooves is different from the number of equivalent slots multiplied by an integer, the difference between the number of grooves and the number of equivalent slots being different form zero, +2 and −2.
