    • An automatic tracking notch filter system tracks a large-magnitude narrow band signal through frequency effectively eliminating it. A frequency variable notch filter is responsive to a control input at which is applied a small amplitude AC dither signal. The resulting fluctuation in frequency of the notch filter causes corresponding fluctuations in the magnitude of the notch filter output. The output signal is rectified and band pass filtered around the dither frequency before being demodulated with the dither signal to provide a DC error signal indicating the magnitude and direction in frequency of the filter misalignment. The error signal is integrated and input to the control input of the notch filter with the dither signal such that the notch filter tracks the narrow band signal in response to the feedback signal provided at its control input.

    • An electrical circuit (200) having an input terminal (201), an output terminal (202), and a signal common (203) is preferably used to attenuate an electrical signal. The electrical circuit (200) comprises four impedance elements (205-208) and an impedance transformer (210). A first impedance element (205) is coupled between the input terminal (201) and a first node (212), while a second impedance element (206) is coupled between the first node (212) and the output terminal (202). A third impedance element (207) is coupled between the input terminal (201) and the output terminal (202), while a fourth impedance element (208) is coupled between a second node (213) and the signal common (203). The impedance transformer (210) is coupled between the first node (212) and the second node (213) to complete the electrical circuit (200).

    • An image band-stop filter circuit includes a transmission line formed on a substrate of GaAs and a T circuit connected in parallel to the transmission line and having a high pass filter characteristic. The T circuit includes series-connected first and second capacitances connected in parallel to the transmission line and a stub having one end connected to a node between the first and second capacitances and the other end short-circuited. The stub has a line length which becomes inductive in an image signal band to be removed. As a result, the lengths of the transmission line and the stub can be reduced to enable the band-stop filter circuit to be made into a MMIC with ease while achieving an excellent signal transmission characteristic.
