    • A combiner system for frequency combining and related methods. Implementations may include a plurality of combiner stages each including a deinterleaver, at least one filter, a frequency downconverter, and a frequency upconverter all operatively coupled together. Each of the plurality of combiner stages may be adapted to receive a complex interleaved input signal including two or more input signals each including a bandwidth, to output a complex stage output signal including the two or more input signals, and to alternately place the bandwidth of each of the two or more input signals in an upper portion and in a lower portion of an output bandwidth of the complex stage output signal. The upper portion and lower portion of the output bandwidth may be contiguous within the output bandwidth and joined at a center of the output bandwidth.

    • This invention provides a relay connection unit that relay message and make sufficient number of branches to be able to connect a plurality of ECUs. The relay connection unit includes: reception connectors to which a plurality of insertion connectors of communication lines can respectively be connected; a branch connection unit that divides the reception connectors into a plurality of groups, the branch connection unit branch-connecting the communication lines through the reception connectors belonging to the respective groups; a plurality of vehicle-mounted LAN communication units respectively connecting to each of the groups of the reception connectors via the branch connection unit, which are configured to perform transmission/reception of messages; and a relay processing unit that relays an incoming message received via one of the vehicle-mounted LAN communication units to another of the vehicle-mounted LAN communication units of another relay connection unit in accordance with a relaying destination.

    • A method and apparatus for enabling a local area network wiring structure to simultaneously carry digital data and analog telephone signals on the same transmission medium. It is particularly applicable to a network in star topology, in which remote data units (e.g. personal computers) are each connected to a hub through a cable comprising at least two pairs of conductors, providing a data communication path in each direction. Modules at each end of the cable provide a phantom path for telephony (voice band) signals between a telephone near the data set and a PBX, through both conductor pairs in a phantom circuit arrangement. All such communication paths function simultaneously and without mutual interference. The modules comprise simple and inexpensive passive circuit components.

    • Digital data is transmitted in a block-based hyperframe that consists of N frames. Each frame carries multiplexed data from one or more user data channels and a control channel. Control channel information is unequally allocated among the N frames, the amount of information carried in each frame varying according to the frame's position in the hyperframe. All of the user data channels except one carry a predetermined number of transmission units in each frame. The excepted user data channel carries a calculated amount needed to round out the particular frame. Following multiplexing, a block encoder defines the frames and adds error detection or error correction information. The number of frames per hyperframe and the total number of transmission units for the control channel are available to a receiver, which can then demultiplex the hyperframe.
