摘要： Some embodiments provide a novel method for deploying different virtual networks over several public cloud datacenters for different entities. For each entity, the method (1) identifies a set of public cloud datacenters of one or more public cloud providers to connect a set of machines of the entity, (2) deploys managed forwarding nodes (MFNs) for the entity in the identified set of public cloud datacenters, and then (3) configures the MFNs to implement a virtual network that connects the entity's set of machines across its identified set of public cloud datacenters. In some embodiments, the method identifies the set of public cloud datacenters for an entity by receiving input from the entity's network administrator. In some embodiments, this input specifies the public cloud providers to use and/or the public cloud regions in which the virtual network should be defined. Conjunctively, or alternatively, this input in some embodiments specifies actual public cloud datacenters to use.

摘要： Embodiments of this application disclose a congestion control method and a related device. A Transmission Control Protocol offload engine TOE sends a congestion control notification to a central processing unit CPU, where the congestion control notification instructs the CPU to obtain a target parameter, and the target parameter is used by the CPU to generate a congestion control calculation result. The TOE obtains the congestion control calculation result returned by the CPU, where the congestion control calculation result includes a congestion control window value. The TOE sends a packet based on the congestion control window value. In this application, the TOE and the CPU implement congestion control together. When a new congestion control algorithm emerges, the new congestion control algorithm may be applied without changing a structure of the TOE. Therefore, in this application, an upgrade period of the congestion control algorithm can be shortened, and flexibility can be improved.

Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a client device of a user is used to select various network service options. The service options correspond to services that can be provided to computing equipment of the user that is mounted in various racks of the data center. In response to receiving the selection of one or more service options, the network fabric of the data center is configured to connect the computing equipment to the selected services. In one approach, the network fabric is configured by creating and/or configuring one or more virtual networks to provide the connection to the services.

摘要： The systems and methods discussed herein provide for faster communications, particularly for high priority traffic, across a distributed network with multiple exit points to a Wide Area Network. Rather than simply routing traffic based on internal or external destination, an intelligent router may measure latency to an endpoint destination via multiple paths, both external and internal, and direct traffic accordingly. Steering high priority traffic via the internal connection to an exit point near the destination server, and then to the server via the external network, may be faster than simply forwarding the connection via the external network from the exit point closest to the source device. Additionally, to reduce bandwidth requirements of the nearby exit point and provide capability for higher priority traffic, low priority traffic may be redirected back via the internal connection and transmitted via a distant exit point.

摘要： Technologies for quality of service based throttling in a fabric architecture include a network node of a plurality of network nodes interconnected across the fabric architecture via an interconnect fabric. The network node includes a host fabric interface (HFI) configured to facilitate the transmission of data to/from the network node, monitor quality of service levels of resources of the network node used to process and transmit the data, and detect a throttling condition based on a result of the monitored quality of service levels. The HFI is further configured to generate and transmit a throttling message to one or more of the interconnected network nodes in response to having detected a throttling condition. The HFI is additionally configured to receive a throttling message from another of the network nodes and perform a throttling action on one or more of the resources based on the received throttling message. Other embodiments are described herein.

A switch fabric connects a plurality of forwarding units, including an egress forwarding unit and two or more ingress forwarding units, each ingress forwarding unit forwarding network packets to the egress forwarding unit via the switch fabric. The egress forwarding unit includes a scheduler and an output queue. Each ingress forwarding unit includes a Virtual Output Queue (VOQ) connected to the output queue and a VOQ manager. The scheduler receives time of arrival information for packet groups stored in the VOQs, determines, based on the time of arrival information for each packet group, a device resident time for each packet group, and discards the packet groups when the determined device resident time for the packet group is greater than a maximum resident time.

摘要： The disclosure herein describes a system, which provides service switching in a datacenter environment. The system can include a service switching gateway, which can identify a service tag associated with a received packet. During operation, the service switching gateway determines a source client, a requested service, or both for the packet based on the service tag, identifies a corresponding service portal based on the service tag, and forwards the packet toward the service portal. The service switching gateway can optionally maintain a mapping between the service tag and one or more of: a source client, a required service, the service portal, and a tunnel encapsulation. The service switching gateway can encapsulate the packet based on an encapsulation mechanism supported by the service portal and forward the packet based on the mapping.
