    • A carburetor having an idle nozzle and a main nozzle each with a fixed flow area and an idle speed single adjustment screw adjustable by the user. The idle and high speed fuel flows are controlled by the idle nozzle and the main nozzle, respectively. The user can adjust the engine speed only by adjustment of the idle speed adjustment screw which changes the position of the carburetor throttle valve to control the flow through the carburetor. This provides a more consistent fuel and air mixture to improve the performance of the engine and better control engine emissions by preventing the user from changing the fuel and air ratio to a mixture which is either too lean or too rich for the steady and low level exhaust emission operation of the engine.

    • An asymmetrical orifice for bypass control in a clean fuel module may include a body having first and second end surfaces and an inner surface defining a bore through the body extending from a first opening through the first end surface to a second opening through the second end surface. The first opening has a first opening inner diameter and the second opening has a second opening inner diameter that is less than the first opening inner diameter. The asymmetrical orifice also includes a flow control contour in the second end surface surrounding the second opening of the bore. The configuration may give the asymmetrical orifice a first discharge coefficient for fluid flowing from the first opening to the second opening that is greater than a second discharge coefficient for fluid flowing in a second direction from the second opening to the first opening.

    • A carburetor attachment is designed for replacing a main jet(s) found in the float chamber of a carburetor. The attachment comprises an elongated tubular member with a bore running therethrough and presenting an opening at the lower end thereof. Threads at the lower end of the tubular member fasten the attachment to the threaded socket presented by removal of the normal main jet. In place, the upper end of the attachment extends above the normal level of the fuel found in the float chamber and has a port thereat providing communication between the internal bore and the surrounding ambient air. An inclined port adjacent the lower end of the tubular member provides a conduit between the surrounding fuel and internal bore. Upon actuation of the carburetor the resulting suction presented within the bore draws the surrounding ambient air and fuel through the respective ports for admixture therein. The resulting mixture is drawn through the opening for subsequent conveyance, through conventional passage means, to the main body of the carburetor.

    • A device for uniform distribution of a two-phase flow containing a liquid and a gaseous component, in particular a fuel-air mixture in a mixture delivery arrangement of an automobile, the device being provided with a flow-in line bore arranged centrally in a housing as well as with a plurality of flow-out line bores extending essentially in a plane perpendicular to the flow-in line and communicating with the flow-in line bore. The flow-in line bore is bounded by the end face of an obturating body which is pressed into a retaining bore arranged coaxially with the flow-in line bore but beyond the plane of the flow-out line bores. In order to create an optimal, uniform distribution effect coupled with a favorable possibility to check the formation of burrs or ridges in the zone of the intersecting edges of the bores, the diameter of the retaining bore is to be rendered substantially larger than the diameter of the flow-in line bore, and between the end face of the obturating body and the bottom of the retaining bore is formed a distribution space in the form of a narrow gap into which the flow-out line bores open.
