    • A thermostat apparatus may include a thermostat case where a first passage may be formed, a first valve that may be disposed in the thermostat case to open or close the first passage, wherein a mounting protrusion may be formed along an inner circumference of the first valve, a drive portion that may be disposed to penetrate the first valve and moves the first valve depending on temperature to open or close the first passage, and a rubber cap that a first side interior circumference thereof contacts an exterior circumference of the mounting protrusion of the first valve and a second side interior circumference thereof slidably contacts an exterior circumference of the drive portion.

    • The disclosure provides a computer-implemented method and system of reducing commodity usage by providing tailored consumer information to the consumer. The method utilizes neural network and machine learning techniques to calculate and cluster statistical data to classify the premises for desired observable condition, including the presence of a programmed thermostat. A score is determined that corresponds to at least one of: (i) a present state of an observable condition, (ii) a non-present state of the observable condition, and (iii) a degree of a condition of the observable condition, to provide tailored consumer information associated to the consumer's usage of the commodity.

    • A fluid flow regulator of the present invention comprises in combination a stationary hollow duct housing having a first end and a second end through which fluid flows. The device also incorporates a movable member aligned concentric with the duct having an end essentially similarly shaped and sized to the first end of the housing. The member may be spaced apart from the duct so that fluid can enter the duct housing through an opening defined by the space between the end of the member and the first end of the duct, with the movement of the member serving to change the size of opening. The movement of the member is controlled by the movement of a float located within the duct. The position of the float can be preset by the operator of the invention so that when fluid flow into the duct is at a predetermined amount the float will remain stationary, and when the fluid flow increases above such predetermined level the float will be moved in the direction of the fluid flow and when fluid flow into the duct is below said predetermined amount, the float will move the member opposite the direction of fluid flow.

    • A temperature averaging thermal sensor is implemented in an integrated circuit such as a microprocessor. The temperature averaging thermal sensor monitors the temperature of the integrated circuit in a plurality of different locations across the integrated circuit, calculates an average temperature and generates an output to indicate that the average temperature of the integrated circuit has attained a pre-programmed threshold temperature. In a microprocessor implementation, the microprocessor contains a plurality of thermal sensors each placed in one of a plurality of different locations across the integrated circuit and an averaging mechanism to calculate an average temperature from the plurality of thermal sensors. Sense circuitry reads the programmable input values and generates an interrupt when the temperature of the microprocessor reaches a threshold temperature. In addition to a temperature averaging thermal sensor, the microprocessor contains halt logic that halts operation of the microprocessor when the temperature attains a critical temperature.
