摘要： A permanent magnet material is prepared by cooling with a chill roll a molten alloy containing R wherein R is at least one rare earth element inclusive of Y, Fe or Fe and Co, and B. The chill roll has a plurality of circumferentially extending grooves in a circumferential surface, the distance between two adjacent ones of the grooves at least in a region with which the molten alloy comes in contact being 100 to 300 .mu.m average in an arbitrary cross section containing a roll axis. Permanent magnet material of stable performance is obtained since the variation of cooling rate caused by a change in the circumferential speed of the chill roll is small. The variation of cooling rate is small even when it is desired to change the thickness of the magnet by altering the circumferential speed. The equalized groove pitch results in a minimized variation in crystal grain diameter.

摘要： A process for the stabilization of a fluidized bed against bubble formation which process comprises a vessel, a plurality of permanently magnetized particles dispersed throughout the bed, and means for fluidizing said particles. The particles are designated as permanently magnetized by virtue of their possessing a coercivity of at least 50 oersteds. The permanently magnetized particles exert magnetic attractive forces upon one another, thereby imparting stability to the fluidized bed. In these beds, fluid throughput rates which are up to 10 or more times the flow rate of said fluid at incipient fluidization of the unmagnetized particles can be achieved with little or no bubbling and at bed pressure drops equal to bed weight.

摘要： A method for continuous manufacture of permanent magnets. A material sheet is formed into an open tube, having a lengthwise opening. Magnetic powder may be poured into the lengthwise opening on a continuous basis. The tube opening is then formed closed and sealed. The magnetic powder is magnetically pre-aligned by subjecting it to a first magnetic field. The tube containing the powder may be compressed into a desired shape, forming an elongated permanent magnet. After compression, the elongated magnet is magnetized by a second magnetic field in two-step process, wherein the elongated permanent magnet is subjected to a magnetic field from first magnetizing coil that is pulsed with a first electric current in a first direction, followed by a second magnetizing coil being pulsed with a second magnetizing electric current in a second direction. The elongated magnet may be formed into any arbitrary shape, such as a ring or coil.
