    • A light bulb includes a seat having a first engaging point and a first contact point respectively formed on a bottom face of the seat to correspond to a second engaging point and a second contact point of a light bulb socket. A first end of the first wire engages with the first engaging point of the seat and a second end thereof engages with a first end of a first filament received in the second enclosure. A first end of the second wire engages with the second engaging point of the seat and a second end thereof engages with a first end of a second filament received in the third enclosure. The third wire has a first end engaging with a side wall of the seat and a second end engaging with both second ends of the first and second filaments.

    • An incandescent halogen lamp used in connection with a vehicle headlamp system in which stray light attributable to reflection off of internal lamp components is reduced while the structural integrity of the lamp is maintained. The halogen lamp includes two filaments, several lead wires, and a support bridge all sealed within a glass envelope. Each filament is connected at its outermost end to a flattened end portion of a lead wire which extends along the length of the filament from near the support bridge to the upper end of the filament. The flattened outer ends of the lead wires have a narrow profile that is in alignment with the direction of illumination of light from their respective filaments. This arrangement reduces the surface area that could otherwise interfere with light emitted by the filaments, and thereby reduces the overall stray light produced by the lamp. The flattened outer ends can have a roughened surface to further help reduce the amount of light reflected off the lead wires.

    • An infrared radiator has a twin tube with an inner bridge that separates two housings which run along the longitudinal direction of the tube. A first heating spiral arranged in a first one of the housings is provided with an external electrical current supply and has a first end connected to a connection wire or a second heating spiral arranged in the second housing. A bore is formed in the inner bridge adjacent a second end of the first heating spiral and through which a connection body can extend from one housing into the other housing. The first heating spiral is thereby electrically connected to the connection wire or the second heating spiral. At least the first heating spiral is mounted under pull tension in the housing. Furthermore, for simplifying the mounting of the heating spiral of the infrared radiator, the bore is formed by boring through the jacket of the twin tube and the inner bridge. The connection body is then inserted into the through bore and the inner bridge, and is electrically connected to the first heating spiral and to the connection wire or to the second heating spiral. The bore is then closed off.

    • An incandescent light bulb is provided with a plurality of filaments, the first of which is mounted between a first and a second current supply member to emit light upon passage of current therethrough. The remainder of the filaments comprise reserve filaments and are mounted between the first and the second current supply members with electrical connection being established only between the first current supply member and the reserve filaments. Biasing means are provided for urging the second current supply member in the direction of a longitudinal axis defined by the filaments, a biasing force generated by the biasing means being counteracted by the first filament and in later stages of the life of the light bulb by one of the reserve filaments. As a filament burns out and partially disintegrates the biasing force creates electrical contact between a reserve filament and the second current supply member and thereby renders operative a successive reserve filament.

    • Incandescent lamps such as vehicle lamps, projector or general lighting lamps have their internal components including one or more filaments supported within their envelopes on a plurality of sheet metal fingers through which current is supplied to the filament(s). The lamps can be made from a metal sheet provided with a series of fingers which are all interconnected at their roots by a portion of the sheet; after affixing internal components of the lamp to selected fingers and securing the fingers together, for example by an insulating bridge, the interconnecting portion is severed from the fingers thereby physically isolating the fingers from one another.
