    • The invention relates to a solar panel comprising a plurality of photovoltaic cells, a polymer plate element for supporting the cells, having protrusions for aligning the cells onto the plate element. The panel has metal conductors fixedly disposed on the plate element, being in electrical contact with the cells, a polymer foil seal spanning the photovoltaic cells and being sealingly connected to the plate element such that the photovoltaic cells are fully enclosed in a space between the plate element and the foil seal, and a polymer cover supported by the plate element, arranged for covering the foil seal and the photovoltaic cells disposed under the foil seal at a distance from the foil seal. The foil seal and the cover are both light transparent to such an extent that in use of the solar panel electrical power is generated by the photovoltaic cells due to incident sunlight.
