    • Die Erfindung betrifft ein Fahrzeug-Lenksystem der by-wire-Bauart ohne mechanischem Durchtrieb zwischen einem Lenkrad und einem Lenk- Getriebe, dem ein von einer elektronischen Steuereinheit angesteuerter Aktuator vorgeschaltet ist, mit einer hydraulischen Rückfallebene, die eine an das Lenkrad gekoppelte Hydraulik-Fördereinheit sowie eine an das genannte Lenk-Getriebe gekoppelte Hydraulik-Stelleinheit aufweist, die über zwei Hydraulikleitungen derart miteinander verbindbar sind, dass bei nicht funktionsfähigem Aktuator ein Lenkrad-Drehwinkel über die Hydraulik- Fördereinheit und die Hydraulik-Stelleinheit in einen entsprechenden Rad- Lenkwinkel umgesetzt wird. Die Hydraulikleitungen sind über ein schaltbares Lenkventil verbindbar, welches als Stetigventil ausgebildet ist, dessen Durchflussquerschnitt im wesentlichen stetig zwischen den beiden Extremen „vollständig geschlossen" und „vollständig geöffnet" einstellbar ist. Das Lenkventil wird auch bei funktionsfähigem Aktuator nicht in seiner vollständigen Offenposition, sondern in geschlossener Position gehalten wird oder in eine teilweise Offenposition gebracht, wenn die im wesentlichen starre Zuordnung zwischen dem Lenkrad-Drehwinkel und dem Rad-Lenkwinkel aufgehoben werden soll. Der Aktuator wird zumindest bei vollständig geschlossenem Lenkventil solchermaßen angesteuert, dass sich für den jeweiligen Lenkvorgang am Lenkrad ein gewünschtes für den Fahrer spürbares sog. Handmoment einstellt.

    • This invention relates to a device for steering returnability and centering for a vehicle comprising at least two spiral springs (9, 10), an arbor (13), case assembly (11 ) and mounting means. Wherein said spiral springs (9, 10) are provided on said arbor (13) coaxially and the unit of said springs (9, 10) and arbor (13) is assembled inside the said casing assembly (11 ). Said arbor (13) is adopted to be rotatably engaged with steering column (7) / wheel (3) and said casing assembly (11 ) is mounted on mounting means. When steering wheel (3) is turned in either direction the springs (9, 10) provide return torque so that the wheel comes back to neutral position. The invention thus provides steering returnability in response to large steering wheel (3) inputs and steering centering in response to spurious steering inputs, thus eliminating the need of providing positive caster in the suspension. The invention is compact and has least number of parts. Apart from that the device is easy to assemble and manufacture.
