    • The objective of the present invention is to provide a lamination device and lamination method that are able to laminate a sheet member without greatly deforming the sheet member when laminating the sheet member. The lamination device laminates a sheet member containing an electrode and/or a separator. The lamination device is provided with: a table at which the sheet member is laminated; a clamper that presses downwards the laminate of the sheet member laminated on the table; a clamper drive unit that causes vertical movement and horizontal rotation of the clamper; and a height adjustment unit that, in accordance with the progress of lamination of the sheet member, relatively lowers the table with respect to the clamper. After a new sheet member has been laminated onto the laminate being pressed downwards by the clamper, the clamper drive unit raises the clamper above the new sheet member while rotating the clamper, and then lowers the clamper, pressing the new sheet member from above. The height adjustment unit lowers the table by a thickness corresponding to the number of laminated sheet members contained in the laminate.

    • A machine and method are disclosed for stacking product, including but not limited to, cardboard, magazines, newspapers, newspaper supplements, flyers, press signatures, and softcover books. The stacking machine (20) includes an infeed assembly for receiving a product stream or flow. The infeed assembly includes a belt jogger (22) assembly for aligning product as it enters the machine. A transport assembly delivers product from the infeed assembly to a stacking assembly. The stacking assembly includes an interrupter (34) that creates a gap in the product stream and assists in accumulating a single lift of product on a separator. The separator delivers a single lift of product to one of a pair of elevators (38a, 38b) which deliver a first application of compression to the lift. After the first compression, the lift is transferred to a compression apparatus where a second round of compression is applied in the process of forming a final stack. Each time a lift is delivered to the compression apparatus, compression is applied to the stack, thus many of the lifts will be compressed several times until the stack is ejected from the machine.
