摘要： Aspects of the disclosure relate to an article engagement device, a package, a carton for packaging a plurality of articles and to a blank for forming the carton. The carton comprises a plurality of panels including; a top panel (20), a first bevel panel (18) and a first side panel (16). The carton comprises an article engagement feature. The article engagement feature comprises an opening (A4, A5) defined at least in part in the top panel and at least in part in the first bevel panel. The article engagement feature comprises at least one tear buffer in the form of a displaceable tab (30). The opening is configured to receive a portion of an upper end of an article. The displaceable tab is located on the perimeter of the opening proximate a hinged connection (19) between the top panel and the first bevel panel.

The arrangement includes locking tabs (54, 56, 58) projecting from an end edge (64) of the first panel (12) and locking slits (50a, 50b, 50c) in the second panel (28). Each locking slit is provided for receiving a respective one of the locking tabs. The locking tabs and the locking slits are engageable by relative sliding movement with each other. At least one of the locking tabs and locking slits is configured to secure the first and second panels in a first overlapping position while at least another one of the locking tabs and locking slits is configured to secure the first and second panels in a second overlapping position.
