167 AN ADAPTIVE METHOD FOR PROCESSING AN EVENT SEQUENCE IN A COMPLEX EVENT PROCESSING SYSTEM AND A SYSTEM THEREOF PCT/EP2013/057700 2013-04-12 WO2013167344A1 2013-11-14 MUTALIKDESAI, Mandar; PATIL, Sanket

The present invention relates to an adaptive method for processing an event sequence (59) in a CEP system (60) and a system (60) thereof. An event sequence (59) related to an entity (35) is received. The event sequence (59) is a sequence of a plurality of events (21-30) and each of the plurality of events (21-30) comprises an event label (41-50). The plurality of events (21-30) is sequenced responsive to the event labels (41-50) for obtaining the event sequence (59). The event sequence (59) is compared with each of a plurality of reference event sequences (91-100). A closest matching reference event sequence (96) for the event sequence (59) is determined. Therewith an anomaly in the event sequence (59) is determined if the event sequence (59) is non-identical to the closely matching reference event sequence (96). The event sequence (59) is then added to the plurality of reference event sequences (91-100) based on the determined anomaly.

A cost monitoring system can monitor a cost of queries executing in a complex event processing system, running on top of a pay-as-you-go cloud infrastructure. Certain embodiments may employ a generic, cloud-platform independent cost model, multi-query optimization, cost calculation, and/or operator placement techniques, in order to monitor and explain query cost down to an operator level. Certain embodiments may monitor costs in near real-time, as they are created. Embodiments may function independent of an underlying complex event processing system and the underlying cloud platform. Embodiments can optimize a work plan of the cloud-based system so as to minimize cost for the end user, matching the cost model of the underlying cloud platform.

173 SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMPLEX EVENT PROCESSING OF VEHICLE INFORMATION AND IMAGE INFORMATION RELATING TO A VEHICLES PCT/US2010/045000 2010-08-10 WO2011019706A1 2011-02-17 NIELSEN, Steven; CHAMBERS, Curtis; FARR, Jeffrey

A vehicle-based complex event processing (CEP) engine executes on a hardware computer processor in a vehicle. The CEP engine receives a first input stream onto which vehicle information related to the vehicle is published, and applies at least one query to the first input stream. The CEP engine then assesses, based on application of the query/queries, if a vehicle-related event has occurred and, if so, the CEP engine publishes an indication of occurrence of the vehicle-related event on at least one output stream of the CEP engine. In one example, the CEP engine may receive a second input stream onto which image information is published, wherein the image information is based at least in part on data provided by at least one on-board vehicle camera.

176 LEVERAGING PERSISTED DATA QUERIES IN STREAM-BASED COMPLEX EVENT PROCESSING US13485249 2012-05-31 US20130325890A1 2013-12-05 Jeffrey Vaught
Persisted data queries are leveraged to generate complex event processing rules for application to a real-time data stream. The method generates a persisted data query based on defined criteria; validates the persisted data query using stored persisted data; and converts the validated persisted data query to a CEP rule. The method may utilize common database querying tools such as XQuery to generate the persisted data query. The persisted data query is executed against historical unprocessed event data stored as persisted data. The results of the persisted data query are analyzed to determine if the persisted data query produces the desired results. The persisted data query is converted to a CEP rule when the desired results are produced.
177 GENERIC QUERY TEMPLATES FOR COMPLEX EVENT PROCESSING AND DATA STREAM SYSTEMS US14292818 2014-05-30 US20140351287A1 2014-11-27 Bernhard Wolf; Rahim Makhani
Systems and methods provide for queries with an arbitrary number of input streams to be created from a generic query template, during runtime, based on, for example, configuration parameters provided by the system or a user. The generic query templates include a generic query template string, query template segments, and an orchestration mechanism for automatic query template generation. The systems and methods of the present invention provide for the substitution of concrete input streams, counters (e.g., stream indices) and query template segments (which can include further placeholders) into the generic query templates. Further, the input placeholders of the generic query template provide for any part of the query template to be substituted with arbitrary logic. Also, the orchestration process is query language independent and can be applied (and extended) for any query language.

A vehicle-based complex event processing (CEP) engine executes on at least one hardware computer processor in a first vehicle. The CEP engine receives a first input stream onto which vehicle information related to the first vehicle is published, and applies one or more queries to the first input stream to assess if a vehicle-related event has occurred.
