165 ROPE WITH HOLES EP13851040.9 2013-08-28 EP2915918A1 2015-09-09 Matsumoto, Sumihiro; Matsumoto, Makoto

Provided is a rope that can be used even by those not familiar with ropework and whose knots will not loosen or come apart. A rope with holes has at least three bonded parts obtained by bonding two cords together at fixed intervals, as well as two openings formed between adjacent bonded parts. The rope with holes can be easily tied with another rope by guiding the other rope through its openings and the knots will not loosen or come apart.

166 METHOD OF MAKING A MECHANICAL FASTENER USING DIVERGING DISKS EP13790553.5 2013-03-14 EP2849601A1 2015-03-25 GILBERT, Thomas J.; GAGNON, Pieter J.; PELTIER, Mark A.
A method of making a mechanical fastener. The method includes providing a slit web having mechanical fastening elements, applying tension to the slit web in the machine direction, and spreading the slit web in the cross-machine direction by directing its side edges over two rotating diverging disks to provide a spread mechanical fastening web. The slit web includes a plurality of interrupted slits that are interrupted by intact bridging regions of the web. The two rotating diverging disks are laterally spaced and have a support surface between them that contacts the slit web during the spreading. The spread mechanical fastening web includes multiple strands of the slit web attached to each other at least at some of the intact bridging regions and separated from each other between at least some of the intact bridging regions.

169 CORD LOCK EP11789802.3 2011-05-31 EP2578108A1 2013-04-10 KAWAGUCHI, Gaku

A cord lock includes a male tool and a female tool that receives a part of the male tool by pressing the male tool against a biasing force of a biasing device, and so as to match cord eyelets formed in sides of the male tool and the female tool each other at a predetermined pressing position of the male tool. An engaging part that is engaged with an engaged part of the female tool by the biasing force of the biasing device to prevent the male tool from slipping out of a position before the pressing operation, is formed on a side of the male tool intersecting a direction in which the eyelet passes through, and at a position closer to a pressing backward side than a hole edge located on a pressing forward side of the eyelet.

171 MAGNETIC LOCK CATCH EP09828586.9 2009-10-21 EP2351498A1 2011-08-03 Wang, Kueisheng

A magnetic fastener includes first and second lock bodies engaged with each other. The first lock body includes a first magnet and a fastener body. The first magnet is defined with a through hole extending through the two opposite end surfaces of the first magnet. The fastener body is movably received in the through hole. The fastener body includes a main body, an interface part disposed at one end of the main body, and a plurality of elastic arms extending outward from the other end of the main body. The interface part passes through the through hole. A receiving space is defined between the elastic arms. The inner side of the free end of the elastic arms is respectively provided with a clasp. The second lock body includes a second magnet and a hook body connected to the second magnet. The hook body is provided with a buckling part. The elastic arms of the fastener body is elastically deformed by inserting the buckling part into the receiving space of the fastener body as well as by the magnetic poles of the opposite two end surfaces of the first magnet and the second magnet attracting and abutting each other, whereby the clasps buckles with the buckling part for locking the first lock body and the second lock body together.
