A lubricant for metal forming comprises a dispersion of particles of a waxy material in a solution or dispersion in a volatile liquid medium of a monomeric organic carrier which is a solid or a viscous liquid at ambient temperature. The particles may be 5-25 microns, the volatile liquid may be xylene, the carrier may be an ester with a MW below 320 and the weight ratio of particles to carrier may be 1:1 to 6:1. The waxy particles provide good lubricating performance without coalescing under load. The lubricant is compatible with adhesives and is easily removed from a workpiece.

The solution concerns a paste for assembling, disassembling, operating stress and maintenance of dismountable connections exposed to high temperatures, or even to aggressive environment. It consists of 45 to 66 percent of synthetic polyalkylene oil, either polypropylene oil with viscosity ranging from 200 to 800 mPa.s at a temperature of 20 degrees C, and/or polybutene oil with viscosity ranging from 4 to 250 mm<2> x s<-1> at a temperature of 40 degrees C, of 30 to 40 percent of highly chemically pure and extremely finely ground graphite, and of 2 to 10 percent of hydrocarbonic reinforcers, like slack wax, paraffin, or ceresin. It is also suitable mainly for slide, highly loaded bearings, Bowdens and similar. The high separating and lubricating effect of the paste can be used also in metal forming for lubrication of die blocks. Other possible use consists in treatment of tyres for their easier exchange and in treatment of contact surfaces of rubber sealing elements.

The lubricating composition of this invention is primarily comprised of an admixture of an API Group V base oil component and a polyolefin base oil component. In general, the blend components include at least 45 wt. % of a Group V base oil component having a kinematic viscosity of less than 20 cSt at 100° C., and from 10 wt. % to 60 wt. % of a polyolefin base oil component having a kinematic viscosity of at least 500 cSt and not greater than 4000 cSt at 100° C. The lubricating composition has improved efficiency and lower operating temperatures, comparable to polyalkylene glycol-based lubricant level, which provides improved machine life and seal life, relative to other lubricating compositions.
38 LUBRICANT COMPOSITION HAVING IMPROVED HIGH-TEMPERATURE DURABILITY US17692765 2022-03-11 US20220195324A1 2022-06-23 Jae Hyeon Kim
The present disclosure relates to a lubricant composition including a base oil, a thickener and a thickener supplement, and a method of manufacturing the same. The lubricant composition of the present disclosure is effective at improving performance at high-temperature by maintaining the evaporation amount and friction characteristics even at high temperatures, thus inhibiting oil contamination of powertrain parts and the like and maintaining sticking phenomenon even in a high-temperature environment, thereby increasing the durability of parts.
