12 Loom shed control mechanism - with paired cams mounted and profiled according to rest positions of loom shafts CH1554872 1972-10-25 CH550267A 1974-06-14
The paired cams, with recesses and segment sections, freely rotate on their shaft so that a coupling with rolling keys gives a controlled engagement and disengagement according to the programme unit and its control mechanism each cam being mounted to its shaft according to the rest position of the loom shafts. Allow high-speed loom oparation, increasing the range of pattern repeats without increasing the size of the control mechanism, and without the mechanical shock forces experienced in conventional dobby looms.

1,192,190. Leeming dobbies. HINDLE, SON & CO. Ltd. 3 Oct., 1968 [7 Oct., 1967], No. 45973/67. Heading D1E. A Leeming dobby has cam levers 11 operated by double acting fluid pressure cylinders 16 under the control of an electrical circuit. Various electrical circuits, operated by a pattern chain, position switches on the heald frames and crankshaft switches are described which produce an open shedding sequence exactly as indicated on the pattern chain which is set for risers and fallers.

1,197,586. Knowles dobbies. HENDLE, SON & CO. Ltd. 22 Aug., 1968 [3 Oct., 1967], No. 4855/67. Heading D1E. A vibrator lever assembly for a Knowles dobby, as described in Specification 1,197,585 and in which the jack levers 1 are horizontally disposed, comprises the lever 6 which has a plate-like end part 6d a boss 6c, a spindle 5a on which the vibrator wheel 5 is mounted and an L shaped plate 31 which is screwed onto the plate 6d to secure the vibrator wheel against axial displacement. The vibrator wheel has an arcuate groove cooperating with the boss 6c or alternatively the connector 4 may have bosses that abut the plate 31. Frictionless bearings may be used for the bearings between the connector and vibrator wheel and the vibrator wheel and vibrator lever. The dobby may operate a drop box or pick-at-will motion.

904,322. Dobbies. HINDLE, T. Jan. 24, 1961 [Feb. 20, 1960], No. 6064/60. Class 142 (2). A dobby has alternate jack levers 1, 2 operated by upper and lower crank gears 12, 13, respectively. Considering the upper half of Fig. 6, a continuously reciprocating knife 44 moves a push-rod 38 (if selected) to raise a cam lever 28, which, by tracks 24, slides a segment gear 20 lengthwise on a continuously-rotating shaft 18, to engage it with the crank gear 12 to move the jack lever 1 to the position occupied by jack lever 2. Selector mechanism.-As the jack lever 1 moves, it moves a lever 46, connected to a floating lever F, to either of two positions 50, 51. A bowl and tube pattern chain 60 also move the other end floating lever F to either of two positions 52, 53. With the parts as in Fig. 6, the pattern chain has not raised the floating lever F which lies obliquely and no shed-change occurs. When a bowl raises the lever F to position 52 so that it lies horizontally the push-rod 38 is brought into the path of knife 44, the jack lever 1 is moved and the other end of the lever F is lowered to 51 so that it again lies obliquely and the push-rod 38 is moved from the knife 44. If at the next pattern change a bowl retains the lever F lifted obliquely to 52 no change occurs, but if a pattern tube lowers the lever F horizontally to 53 change occurs. In Fig. 5 (not shown), the push-rods are actuated by solenoids in an electrical circuit. Manual operating means are provided, the throw of the crank gears may be varied and the ends of the pushrods may be shaped to aid retention on the knives.
