The invention is a softening agent including a silicon resin, an emulsifier and an antistatic agent mixed in coexistance and a process for treating acryl fiber with the agent to give the fiber an animal hair-like soft touch. The agent has a mixture of organopolysiloxane (A) one weight part, partial phosphoric ester (B) 0.1 to 0.5 part and wholly or partially phosphoric ester salt (C) 0.1 to 4.0 part stably dispersed in a medium of agua family. The process applies the agent onto acryl fibers and heat treates at the temperature (60) to (150) degree (C) in the wet or dry atm.
