    • A stable continuous hot rolling method which extremely lessens dislocation produced upon application of a high frequency induction heating of the transverse type for joining billets and eliminates plate breakage by individually cutting a rear end of a leading billet and a front end of a trailing billet by means of two pairs of cutting blades, one pair of which is arranged such that front faces of the blades are opposite in direction to each other on both sides of the billet and the other pair of which is arranged such that front faces of the blades are reversed in direction to those of the blades of the one pair, while conveying the respective billets in the same direction when the rear end of the leading billet and the front end of the trailing billet, respectively, are cut by means of drum shears which vertically interpose therebetween the rear end and the front end and are provided at outer peripheries thereon with cutting blades, and the respective ends are fed to a rolling mill to be continuously subjected to hot finished rolling after they are heated trough high frequency induction heating to be raised in temperature and pressed against each other to be joined.

    • A shearing system is adapted to remove a portion of product having a main product length moving along a line (PL).     • The invention relates to a flying shear comprising at least one drum which is equipped with a blade, whose peripheral speed can be synchronised with the feed rate of the rolling strip and comprising an anvil which is located opposite the drum and optionally a controllable adjusting device allocated to said drum. The flying shear is configured in such a way, that wear is minimised and that extended tolerances are allowed during the production thereof, without impairing the cutting performance. This is achieved when the blade drum (2) is in the working position, by the retention of a space (8) between the anvil drum (3) and the blade drum (2) which ensures that the rolling strip (4) severs at its weakest point, as a result of the longitudinal forces which are exerted on said rolling strip (4).
