    • The present invention relates to a torque detecting apparatus provided with a conversion device, which is positioned on the axis of one of an input shaft and an output shaft extended on a same axis and mutually connected by a torsion bar and which serves to convert the relative rotational displacement between the input and output shafts into a linear displacement, a slidable member causing a sliding motion corresponding to the linear displacement obtained by the conversion by the conversion device, and detection device for generating an electrical signal by detecting the sliding motion of the slidable member. The conversion device comprises a lever shaft portion, a leg portion and link arrangement.The leg portion oscillates, when the lever shaft portion of conversion device is rotated by the link arrangement, to cause the sliding motion of a slidable member, engaging with the leg portion on the other shaft.

    • Disclosed is a method for introducing a gene into a target cell using a retrovirus vector, which is simple and highly efficient. Specifically disclosed is a method for introducing a gene into a target cell using a retrovirus vector, which comprises the steps of (a) placing a liquor containing a retrovirus vector having a foreign gene carried thereon into a culture vessel on which a retrovirus-binding substance has been immobilized, and incubating the liquor at a temperature lower than 25° C. for 4 hours or longer, thereby producing a culture vessel having the retrovirus vector bound thereto, and (b) adding a target cell to the culture vessel that has been produced in step (a) and incubating the culture vessel. The gene introduction method is simple and highly efficient, and is useful particularly in the fields of medicine, cell technology, gene technology, embryologic technology and the like.

    • An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a recording medium, and a program for allowing communicating parties at remote locations to view the same displayed content and to point to desired positions on the displayed image of the content. A user A and a user B viewing themselves and the content on a cross-faded mode may point to desired positions on the content image with their fingertips. Motion vectors of the fingertips are then detected in particular areas extracted from the image in a manner containing the detected positions. The detected motion vectors are translated into a pointer for the user A and a pointer for the user B, the pointers being alpha-blended with the content image. The two pointers extracted from a single image are associated with the users A and B by use of different Cyber Codes (2D code) attached to the fingertips of each user, for example. This invention applies illustratively to communication apparatuses for permitting communication between remote locations.
