The method comprises cutting out the rectum (16) of the animal (17) with a cylindrical cutter arranged around a centering mandrel (9) and provided with side openings for immediately removing any waste matter that becomes stuck within the cutter, and injecting ground fat or a similar material into the anus with a pressurizing device (3) controlled by automation equipment of the facility, said device being connected via a flexible duct (6) to an inner channel (7) in the centering mandrel for the tool (9) for cutting out (8) the rectum. The method and device are suitable for use in any slaughtering facility, particularly high-throughput abattoirs.

摘要： A device for cutting out the vent of a slaughtered animal comprises: a centring element (2, 4); a rotary cutter (16) which can be moved coaxially relative to the centring element; and retaining means for fixing the vent. The retaining means are movable coaxially relative to the cutter and comprise a number of axially directed projections (12) of which ends can project into or through the vent for fixing of the vent. Stripping means (6) are provided for exerting a stripping force on a vent impaled on the projections of the retaining means, in the direction of the ends of the projections for stripping of the vent from them. The stripping means may be fitted in an axially fixed position relative to the centring element, and generally comprise a radial collar of which the shape of at least one external or internal edge is at least partially complementary to that of the cross-section of the projections of the retaining means.

A barrier member is provided between the tip portion and the handle, and is positioned in a spaced-apart relationship with the handle. Inserting the tip and barbs into the rectum causes radial stretching of the intestinal wall, and rotation of the tool causes ensnarement of the rectum on the barbs. The tool is retracted from the anus, pulling a section of rectum external to the animal to be closed to prevent leakage of bodily waste materials.

The machine contains at least two rotary processors in a single frame. A covering surrounds the processors. A venting processor cuts out and removes the vent of a slaughtered animal and in the process removes unwanted fecal or other material from the exterior and the interior of the carcass. The anal seal includes a plug (15) for insertion through the anus so that tissues (11) contract behind the plug, a clamp (20) movable towards the plug to clamp the tissues behind, and retaining means (40) to hold the clamp in its clamping position. The plug (15) is conical and has a back end (17) so that the clamp which is in the shape of a clamping disc (22) clamps against periphery (18) of the back end of the plug. The clamp (15) can slide on a stem (32) extending from the back end of the plug. The retaining means (40) can comprise biasing means (48) or a latch (41) to hold the clamp in its clamping position. An applicator tool (60) can mount the anal seal during insertion of the plug into the rectum and move the clamp from a retracted position to its operative clamping position.
