    • A contactor having electromagnetically operated contacts, wherein main contacts and connections for power supply are arranged in a bottom area of the contactor and contact control means such as electric magnet and coil are arranged above the main contacts. The contactor includes a contactor enclosure being sequentially detachable in two dependent, successive steps through a locking element utilized by both.steps, such that in a first step access is provided to the contactor main contacts, and in a second step access is provided to the electric magnet and coil. The locking element is formed to engage a first and second arresting seat defined in the contactor enclosure. The arresting seats are arranged to urge the locking element into engagement with the second arresting seat as the locking element is released from engagement with the first arresting seat.

    • In relation to a circuit breaker, a left-side accessory switch storage section and a right-side accessory switch storage section are provided in a breaker case 1. A contact point of an ancillary switch 7 provided in one of the accessory switch storage sections is opened or closed in conjunction with an output protrusion 6a formed on an open-close lever 6 of an open-close mechanism section 3 on the main unit. A contact point of an alarm switch 9 provided in the remaining accessory switch storage section is opened or closed in conjunction with an alarm output plate 8 which operates in association with tripping action of the breaker. The output protrusion 6a is caused to oppose an operation lever 7a of an ancillary switch which is formed into a symmetrical bifurcated shape and which is provided in the accessory switch storage section. The alarm output plate constitutes a pivotal lever coupled to a toggle shaft 3a of the open-close mechanism section. An output protrusion 8a provided at the extremity of the pivotal lever is caused to oppose an operation lever 9a of the alarm switch provided in the accessory switch storage section.

    • In a magnetic switch for a starter motor, a magnetic core member providing a magnetic flux path is composed of separate components: a first core, a cylindrical yoke and a second core, all contained in a cup-shaped frame in close contact to one another. The first core is forcibly inserted into the cup-shaped frame, and the cylindrical yoke formed by rounding a flat plate into a C-shaped body having a small opening is also forcibly inserted in the cup-shaped frame by squeezing the small opening. The separate components are firmly pressed to each other by an axial force generated by caulking an open end of the cup-shaped frame. A switch cover is connected to the magnetic core member not to loosen the axial force connecting the components. Thus, magnetic resistance increase in the magnetic flux path formed by separate components is effectively suppressed.

    • The present invention provides a magnetic latching contactor for high current switching applications. A stationary assembly is provided which comprises a first passive biasing member and an active biasing member. A moveable assembly is slidably coupled to the stationary assembly for movement between a first stable position and a second stable position. A second passive biasing member is also provided. The first passive biasing member applies a first passive biasing force to the moveable assembly biasing the moveable assembly toward the first stable position. The second passive biasing member applies a second passive biasing force to the moveable assembly biasing the moveable assembly toward the second stable position. The active biasing member provides an active biasing force to the moveable assembly alternatively biasing the moveable assembly to the first stable position and the second stable position. In the absence of the active biasing force, the first passive biasing force is sufficient to maintain the moveable assembly in the first stable position, and the second passive biasing force is sufficient to maintain the moveable assembly in the second stable position. A momentary active biasing force is applied to the moveable assembly to move the moveable assembly between the first stable position and the second stable position. A contact assembly is provided which is coupled to the stationary assembly and the moveable assembly such that an electrical closed circuit is established in the first stable position and an electrical open circuit is established in the second stable position.
