    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject paper useful for bill, etc., without staining a dryer with an adhesive of a thread, by adding a specific thread to a paper layer in paper making so as to alternately expose and embed the thread on the surface of a paper and drying the paper under a prescribed condition. SOLUTION: In producing a paper for preventing counterfeit by adding a thread obtained by providing both the sides of a filamentous or a taped substrate with a thermoplastic and/or a water remoistening adhesive to a paper layer in paper making so as to alternately expose and embed the thread on one side of a paper, in a drying process, the highest temperature TD on the surface of a cylindrical type dryer to be brought into contact with the thread is controlled so as to establish a relationship of the equation (temperature unit is deg.K) between TD and the glass transition temperature Tg of the adhesive layer at the side of the thread to be brought into contact with the dryer to give the objective thread containing paper for preventing counterfeit. Preferably the adhesive layer attached to the side of the thread to be brought into contact with the dryer uses a thread composed of a thermoplastic adhesive having >=60% gel content and 293-318 deg. K of TG.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce cost and increase liquid retention ability and absorbency by making a separator with the mixture of glass fibers having a mean diameter thicker than 5mum, acid resistant synthetic fibers to which hydrophobic treatment is conducted, and water-containing amorphous silica with a paper machine. CONSTITUTION:A separator for sealed lead-acid battery is made with the mixture of 10-30wt% glass fibers having a mean diameter thicker than 5mum, 40-80wt% acid resistant synthetic fibers to which hydrophobic treatment is conducted and in which at least 10wt% beating synthetic fibers are contained, 10-40wt% water-containing amorphous silica with a paper machine. Therefore, cost is reduced by removing expensive fine glass fibers, and liquid retention ability and absorbency are increased by using thicker glass fibers to increase capillary action. Moreover, by using synthetic fibers to which hydrophobic treatment is conducted, dispersion of fibers and mechanical strength are increased. Therefore, battery performance is improved.
