[Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A sprayer carried by a tractor or other vehicle is operated by the pressure of the exhaust gases of the engine. A detachable flexible pipe 2 connects the exhaust gases to a T-junction 4, one branch 5 of which leads to a safety valve 6 and escape pipe 7 ; the other to a 3 way cock 9 on top of the tank 1. One outlet from the cock leads into the top of the tank ; the other to a pipe connector 11. A connection 12 leads the gas from the tank to a flexible pipe 13 leading to the spray boom 33, 34, having co-axial nozzles, and which is adjustably mounted on brackets 37 secured to the back of the tank. Liquid is fed to the boom by a pipe 16 dipping into the tank and by an on-off valve 15, a wheel valve 19 for fine control, a filter 20, and a flexible pipe 18. The tank is fitted with a filler cap 23, pressure gauge 25, and liquid level sight glass 21. As an alternative method of filling, a cock 27 is provided with a connector 26, which, with the connector 11 above mentioned, receive flexible hoses 28, 29, Fig. 6, leading to two pipe connections 30, 31 projecting through a rubber bung 32 that fits the neck of a storage drum. By diverting the exhaust gases through pipe 11, by means of the cock 9, into the drum, the liquid will be forced up pipes 31 and 29 into the tank.

    • In one aspect the present invention provides a method for selecting a cell or cell colony which produces a polypeptide of interest, comprising a) providing a medium comprising cells and a detection agent, wherein the detection agent is associated with a detectable signal and the detection agent is capable of binding to the polypeptide of interest; b) providing a solid phase having a capture agent disposed thereon, wherein the capture agent is capable of binding to the polypeptide of interest; c) contacting the medium with the solid phase; d) detecting the signal associated with the detection agent; and e) selecting a cell or cell colony associated with the signal, wherein presence of the signal is indicative of a cell or cell colony which produces the polypeptide of interest.
