    • A nut tree pickup and debris separator comprising three separate but serially interconnected stages, each including optimized structural and functional features for nut harvesting. The first stage includes a rotary pickup brush and an endless conveyor. The conveyor is constructed from a plurality of parallel bars with flights therebetween, the rods being arranged in spaced relation to retain nuts and pass debris. The second stage comprises an inclined rotating drum whose sidewall includes a plurality of elongated apertures passing therethrough, sized to retain nuts and pass debris. An inner side of the sidewall has a helical flight, sized, configured, and arranged to convey and tumble nuts and debris through the drum, with debris falling through the apertures. The third stage includes vertically offset, tandem conveyors and a cleaning fan to remove any remaining debris from the nuts as the stream falls from the end of one conveyor onto the other.

    • An apparatus for cleaning the air discharged from an agricultural harvester. A separation housing has inlet and outlet ends. The inlet end includes an upper chute, a lower chute, and a separation wall therebetween. The lower chute extends from the inlet end to a clean air discharge intermediate the inlet and outlet ends. Air entering the lower chute is relatively clean, and is discharged to the atmosphere through the clean air discharge. Air entering the upper chute is relatively dirty, and is routed through the upper chute to a separation chamber having an upper input end, a lower output end, and a downwardly inclined passageway extending therebetween. Small particles and dust precipitate from the air and collect on the floor of the passageway. Harvester movement urges the particles and dust to exit from the output end dropping onto the ground, and clean air exits directly therefrom into the atmosphere.

    • A mobile field shredder adapted to move continuously through an orchard, pick up pruned branches from the ground, and shred the branches into sawdust and small shredded pieces. The front end of the shredder includes a pair of counter-rotating feeder rollers for picking up the branches. A shredding chamber receives the branches from the feeder rollers. First and second shredder rollers within the shredding chamber, include plural knife blocks on their respective outer peripheries. The shredder rollers are driven in tandem, in the same direction. A chamber screen is provided at the after end of the shredding chamber, in close proximity to the second shredder roller. The shredder rollers reduce the size of material so it is can pass through perforations in the screen. The consistency and size of the shredded material is such that it rapidly decomposes in the field and enriches the soil in the orchard.
