    • A soil modifying machine comprises a machine body, a hopper through which a soil to be modified is fed to the machine body, a soil conveying means for conveying the soil supplied through the hopper, a soil conditioner supply device for supplying a soil conditioner to the soil, a mixing unit disposed at a discharge portion of the soil conveying means, the mixing unit comprising an outer case, a soil cutter device disposed inside the case and a plurality of impact hammers disposed below the soil cutter device, and a modified soil conveyer disposed at a discharge portion of said mixer unit. The soil cutter device may comprise a cylindrical drum, a plurality of cutters mounted to an outer peripheral surface of the drum, and a motor for driving and rotating the drum. Each of the impact hammers may comprise a rotational shaft, a plurality of hammer pieces, each in shape of plate, mounted to the rotational shaft and a motor for driving and rotating the impact hammer. A rear side mixer may be further disposed downstream the modified soil discharge portion.

    • A shredder or mixer apparatus for the shredding or mixing of bulk material and which is mounted on a mobile chassis which may be driven by a power source on the chassis or pulled by a tractor or truck therefor. A specially designed power assist transmission receives power from the power source and is capable of being manually shifted in order to change a transmission power ratio between the power source and a shredding or mixing member, such as an auger, without any interruption of power to the auger. Thus, changes in loads on the power source can be compensated by reducing or increasing the transmission ratio without power interruption. A specially designed hydraulically operated transmission is effective for this purpose. A manually actuable shift means on the transmission is capable of being engaged by an operator and moved to any of a plurality of selected positions for shifting the transmission to different power output ratios.

    • A mobile field shredder adapted to move continuously through an orchard, pick up pruned branches from the ground, and shred the branches into sawdust and small shredded pieces. The front end of the shredder includes a pair of counter-rotating feeder rollers for picking up the branches. A shredding chamber receives the branches from the feeder rollers. First and second shredder rollers within the shredding chamber, include plural knife blocks on their respective outer peripheries. The shredder rollers are driven in tandem, in the same direction. A chamber screen is provided at the after end of the shredding chamber, in close proximity to the second shredder roller. The shredder rollers reduce the size of material so it is can pass through perforations in the screen. The consistency and size of the shredded material is such that it rapidly decomposes in the field and enriches the soil in the orchard.

    • A mobile shredding system is used mounted on a vehicle. The system has a hopper, for receiving material to be shredded, a shredder communicating with the hopper, and a holding space for shredded waste into which the shredder feeds shredded material. A bin lifting mechanism with at least one chain onto which a carriage is attached is mounted on a side of the vehicle. The carriage has an engagement mechanism for attaching a bin and the chain is movable by means of a drive mechanism from a lowered position, in which the carriage is adjacent the ground on which the vehicle is standing, and a raised position, in which the carriage is adjacent an inlet of the hopper and the contents of the bin are emptied into the hopper via the inlet. The carriage has a weight measuring mechanism such as a load cell incorporated therein to measure the weight of the bin when the bin is attached to the engagement mechanism. The system further has a weight indicating display, and also a electronic storage of the measured bin weight.
