    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an English composition ability training system in which a learner steadily starts to understand a peculiar "dealing method" for deriving an appropriate English translation as answering questions while looking at a computer screen, and easily and surely learns the ability of English writing based on the capacity of thinking by himself/herself together with Japanese-English translation ability in an extremely short time.
      SOLUTION: A system of translating Japanese to English on the screen of a computer at least includes: a step of indicating the Japanese of subject candidates and advancing to the next step when a correct subject (Japanese) is clicked; a step of indicating the English of the subject candidates and advancing to the next when the correct subject (English) is clicked; a step of indicating the candidates of the verb (Japanese) of conclusion and advancing to the next when the correct verb (Japanese) of the conclusion is clicked; and a step of indicating the candidates of the verb (English) of the conclusion and advancing to the next when the correct verb (English) of the conclusion is clicked. Thus, an English sentence is derived from Japanese words.

    • In a spherical-aberration correcting mechanism which electrically drives and changes the lens group gap of two groups of lenses so as to correct spherical aberration, in order to reduce the power consumption thereof, the optical recording/reproducing apparatus of the present invention is arranged so that, upon recording or reproducing a recording medium having a plurality of recording layers, supposing that the gap of the lens groups at the time of forming a converged light spot on the first recording layer is DIS(1), the applied current to the spherical-aberration correcting mechanism is i1, the gap of the lens groups at the time of forming a converged light spot on the N-th layer (the farthest layer from the surface of the recording medium) is DIS(N) and the applied current to the spherical-aberration correction mechanism is i2, |i1|=|i2| is satisfied, and the neutral point of the spherical-aberration correcting mechanism is set at a position satisfying the following expression: lens group gap dst (3)=((DIS(1)+DIS(N))/2.
