摘要： A tracking system counts events in the operation of multiple machines or devices over a wide geographic area. For example, for bulk venders the system counts each vend responsive to rotation through a cycle of the coin mechanism, and preferably records the date and time of each vend. An active tag has a memory for storing data representing a vending event, for example the date and time of the event. The data is periodically read by an interrogator, which downloads the data stored in the tag memory and erases the memory to reset the tag for continued monitoring of the vender. With this information an operator can reconcile revenues, track when sales take place and over what period of time, and track the work habits of service personnel.

摘要： A bulk vending machine provides a dispensing conduit having a revolving mouth that floats on top of a heap of articles in the product bin. The mouth is movable between a horizontal orientation, in which the mouth can scoop articles off of the surface of the heap, and a vertical orientation in which a throat of the dispensing conduit opens to allow an article which has been scooped into the mouth to fall through the dispensing chute. Revolution of the dispensing conduit by turning the handle causes the mouth to revolve around the heap of articles, scooping up one or more articles in its path.

The bridge resists deformation of the base frame, provides a secure structure for receiving the latch from the box lock, and provides a means elevated above the base floor for affixing a center rod which secures the components of the vender together, allowing the cash box to occupy virtually the entire floor area of the base.

摘要： The invention provides a rotary coin mechanism in which the mechanism is provided with a boss which projects into the rotational path of the token. The boss allows rotation of the token carrier only if a token seated in the token receptacle is provided with a recess or groove complimentary to the boss and configured to approximate the rotational path of the token. In the preferred embodiment the groove has a first portion which is in line with the boss and a second portion which is offset from the first portion and connected thereto by a cam surface. As the token cycles past the boss, the boss passes from the first portion into the second portion of the groove and lifts the token within the token receptacle at the perimeter measuring point, so that only if the second portion of the groove is precisely positioned in the face of the token will the perimeter measuring device allow the token to pass. In a preferred embodiment the mechanism is also provided with a guide in the token receptacle comprising a pair of ribs compatible with one or more complimentary recesses or grooves in the token, to allow for insertion of the token. The preferred token thus has grooves in two directions: a first direction which is the direction of insertion of the token, and a second direction which is relatively orthogonal to the first and approximates the rotational path of the token as it is conveyed to the dispensing point by the token carrier. Also, in the preferred embodiment the grooves on opposite sides of the token are each formed deeper than one-half of the thickness of the token, so the points where these grooves intersect result in open spaces.

摘要： The invention provides a modular pedestal for a bank of vending machines, comprising a plurality of pedestal modules onto which each vending machine is mounted. Each pedestal module has a plurality of connecting posts disposed adjacent to edges of the top face at selected positions, so that when pedestal modules are placed side-by-side at least one post on the pedestal module is adjacent to at least one post on an adjacent pedestal module. A connecting member, having a plurality of openings spaced apart a distance approximating the spacing between adjacent posts of the adjacent pedestal modules, is placed over the adjacent connecting posts to connect the modules together, and retained in position by the base of the vending machine. In a preferred embodiment the sides of the pedestal modules converge slightly toward the top and the openings in the connecting elements are slightly larger than the posts, allowing adjacent pedestal modules to shift relative to one another and thus to accommodate an uneven floor surface.
