摘要： A method of appropriately bonding sliders to be processed to a processing jig, which is applied to forming, by dry-etching, sliders for the floating type magnetic heads used in hard disk drives. When processing a plurality of magnetic head slider portions at a time, this magnetic head slider manufacturing method bonds an array of bar sliders to a metallic or ceramic base and then forms air bearings by dry etching. This method is characterized by a dry film resist used for bonding between the slider bars and the base. The dry etching may use an ion milling and a reactive ion etching (RIE).

摘要： An ink jet head for a drop on-demand type ink jet printer. The driving electrodes can be easily and reliably connected to the external electrodes. Further, rotational action of the piezoelectric element during the driving is suppressed. Between the driving electrodes having insulating film and the external electrodes, there is provided an electrical connection material containing conductive grains which are harder than the insulating film and has a particle diameter larger than the thickness of the film. Recesses are provided in the bottoms of the grooves of the piezoelectric elements which function as ink chambers and pressure chambers. These recesses are formed by line segments connected at least by two line segments or line segments connected by one curved line. Part of the line segments which bring about the rotation of the piezoelectric elements is transformed into the component which establishes a shearing mode.

摘要： An ink-jet head for an ink-jet recording device, wherein a member constituting an ink chamber of the head is made of a plastic material and the hydrophilic nature is imparted to the surface of the plastic material by a surface treatment for introduction of a polar group. The surface treatment can be acid treatment, ultra-violet-ozone irradiation, or oxygen plasma treatment. When the ink-jet head is used in an ink-jet printer employing an aqueous ink, since the wettability in the ink passage in the head is good and the wettability can be maintained stably, it is possible to maintain a high printing quality over a long period of time.
